Daegu Korean restaurant for crispy minari pancake: Uldong Bossam
In short
Uldong Bossam is a Korean restaurant in Dongin-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, serving bossam set meals and pancakes. I paired the extra-meat set with a 9,000 won minari pancake, plus pork jowl, pork belly, and brisket doenjang stew. A no-regrets meal.

Uldong Bossam location and hours in Dongin-dong, Daegu
Uldong Bossam is right across from the main gate of the Dongin Annex of Daegu Metropolitan City Hall. It is easy to find if you pass the IBK Daegu branch and the Hillstate apartments toward the Dongin Annex! Hours are 11:00–23:00, with last orders at 21:30 and a break from 15:00–16:30. What I find appealing is that it is not simply a place with great bossam (boiled pork wraps)—they use fresh seasonal ingredients too ~~

If you want a bossam set meal in Daegu without any regrets, this is the place to visit: Uldong Bossam (울동보쌈) in Dongin-dong, Jung-gu.

Bossam platters, boiled pork hot pot, and jeon (savory pancakes). The menu is made up entirely of things every Korean loves.

Beyond bossam, there is even boiled pork hot pot to have as a drinking snack, so you can enjoy both a meal and something to go with drinks!!

A quiet dining atmosphere and thoughtful interior
There were coat hooks on the wall, which is great for hanging outerwear in winter, and aprons were hung here and there so they were easy to grab. You can really feel the owner's thoughtfulness and sense ㅜ

The interior had a calm atmosphere, with delicious smells drifting through it ㅜㅜ I wanted to eat already ..

The whisky you see as soon as you enter was sold by the bottle and by the glass. It seems like a nice place to treat someone, too.

The kitchen is open, so you can watch the cooking over someone's shoulder. Being that open means it is clean, right!!

I sat by the window and could see clearly outside. I considered coming the day before for bossam and drinks, and I think it would get darker in the evening and feel even nicer. Next time, I have to come for drinks!

I wondered what this container was, and it turned out to be a soy sauce bottle. I remember every table having a different style of bottle! Isn't that so fancy .. And the water was not plain water—barley tea? I think it was some kind of tea. I absolutely love restaurants that serve tea instead of water haha. I waited while drinking the refreshing drink 🐷

Even the restroom inside! It was very clean and well maintained. I think having an indoor restroom rather than one outside is a huge plus. The atmosphere is so nice ㅠㅠㅠ Everyone dines quietly. Lots of families come, and lots of couples do too.

Ordering the extra-meat bossam set and minari pancake
I ordered the bossam set with extra meat and a minari (water parsley) pancake. I had been going to get the regular bossam set, but reviews said the meat was so good that I paid 2,000 won extra for more meat. There were potato and minari pancakes, and since there were lots of potato pancake reviews, I decided to try the minari one. Looking forward to it ..

Dun dun duuun. Is this for real? The ultimate visual .. It was the best bossam set meal I have ever had, and the spread was so good too. Seasoned bean sprouts, marinated onions, seasoned greens with doenjang, salted shrimp, ssamjang, and more—at this price, this much says it all.

Grind the sesame seeds, add the soy sauce, and use it as a dipping sauce for the meat.

Pork jowl, pork belly, and brisket doenjang stew
These are pork jowl and pork belly. There was no off smell at all, and I just kept reaching for them .. Eating them with minari and musaengchae (seasoned shredded radish) is a flavor I still cannot forget ㅜ I preferred the pork belly. The pork jowl was more tender, but I like a chewy bite with both fat and lean meat, so the pork belly suited me better.

Not even regular doenjang stew, but brisket doenjang stew ... Owner, isn't this too much? You are being way too generous ㅠㅠ The stew is such a rice killer too. It was loaded with vegetables like tofu, zucchini, and mushrooms. I wanted to order another bowl of rice, but passed for the sake of my diet ...
I debated ordering the potato pancake but got the minari pancake instead, and I think that was the right call. I expected a strong minari flavor, but it was thin, crisp, and so nutty. It even had shrimp on top, and they gave us a spicy sauce that tasted like chicken-skewer sauce. I liked the soy sauce much better.

What review is even needed? Cleared it all ~~ It is seriously so delicious ㅠㅠ

A choice with no regrets. You have to try it. I think I found a truly authentic bossam restaurant. Whether for a company dinner, a date, or lunch or dinner, you can have a delicious meal without a big burden. I highly recommend it.
