Does luxury perfume really have to be expensive?
Scent Perfume Workshop (센트향수공방) in Daejeon is a one-day class studio where you pick the scents you like and combine them into your own perfume. Luxury perfume can be a heavy purchase, and a famous scent doesn't suit everyone, right? Scent smells different on each person, and in the end the best scent is the one that suits you.
Pick the scents you love, combine them, and make your very own perfume. — Scent Perfume Workshop, Daejeon

My pick for a Dunsan-dong date in Daejeon ♥️

Before you go: perfume you make can't be gifted or sold
Perfume counts as a cosmetic, so you can't give away or sell the perfume you make at Scent Perfume Workshop. Besides the fun of making a scent, you also learn the basics of perfume and how to use it properly ^--^
The three perfume note stages: how do top, middle and base differ?
A perfume's scent is usually divided into three stages: top, middle and base notes. Let's have fun making a scent together~ 🌸
- Top note: the first scent you notice when you spray. Usually light and highly volatile. Typical scents: citrus, herbs, light fruits
- Middle note: the heart of the perfume. Typical scents: floral, spicy, fruity
- Base note: the scent that lingers softly to the end. Typical scents: woody, musk, amber, vanilla
Choosing the top note: go with the one that makes you say "this is it!"

The top note is the very first scent when you spray, so ⭐just pick the one you like best. No need to spend too long here. Pick whichever makes you think "this is it!" when you smell it. You'll spend plenty of time on the base note anyway ╰(*°▽°*)╯
Choosing the middle note: 3 recommended, but I picked 5
The middle note steadies the scent as the top note slowly fades. It plays an important role in deciding the perfume's overall character and mood. Picking about 3 middle notes is a good idea ♥️
I liked so many that I picked 5 haha (T_T) You may agonize over the middle notes, but if you like a lot of them, just lock in several like I did,,,
Base note and blending, plus 1 week of aging
The base note is the scent that lingers softly until the end.

Last comes blending, where you combine the various fragrance oils. You need to mix well so the oils and alcohol blend together stably. Perfume needs an aging period, so it's best to start using it 1 week after making it.
The final step at Scent Perfume Workshop: choosing a cap and bottle and decorating
The last step at Scent Perfume Workshop is making your own perfume bottle. The order is 1. pick a cap, 2. pick a bottle, 3. decorate the bottle.
How many perfume caps are there?

There were really a lot of caps. About.. 33 of them ^6^ Stone caps, wooden caps, plastic caps and more, so you can choose the design you want. I really.. agonized over picking the cap hehe
Choosing the perfume bottle design

Looking at the bottles reminded me of famous luxury perfume brands. The bottles were as varied as the caps. The bottle you want + the cap you want + the scent you want, a total mix-it-your-way setup, which was awesome.
Decorating the bottle: stickers and stick-on stones

Yes~ and finally, my favorite part of the whole class~! Decorating the bottle!! There were lots of kinds of stickers, so I could decorate it just how I wanted. There were plenty of stickers, but also lots of stones you can stick on...
Ta-da, everyone, here's the finished piece at last.

It came out prettier than I expected and I decorated it well, so I was really happy 🙌🌸⭐♥️
Scent Perfume Workshop verdict: would I go back?
I'd 100% go back to the one-day class at Scent Perfume Workshop!! Until now I'd been going to department stores and buying expensive perfume, but making my own saved money, and blending scents I love was so satisfying. It was also perfect as a date spot! And the teacher explained everything in such detail that it wasn't hard at all ♥
