Dong, Daegu café brunch with cream pasta: Hands Coffee

In short

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a multi-floor café in Dong-gu, Daegu. I visited with my daughter for a Double Tray Hands Brunch B Set with paccheri cream pasta and a soft jambon-beurre; the rich sauce and arugula sandwich stood out, and the third floor had more tables than the second.

Last weekend, I had brunch with my daughter at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점). We shared paccheri cream pasta and a soft jambon-beurre, and looked around the different seating areas on each floor.

Where is it, and was parking easy?

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is at 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. The hours posted at the time of my visit were 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with no regular closing day.

The building stands on elevated ground, and the café occupied floors 2 through 4, excluding the first floor. It felt large enough for a date, a family outing, or a group gathering.

There was a dedicated parking lot, so I had no major difficulty parking that day.

Where do you order, and what did we choose?

The elevator runs to the fourth floor, but orders must be placed on the second floor. When I went up, I found desserts, bottled drinks, and small decorative items.

There were three Double Tray Brunch Set options. We ordered the Double Tray Hands Brunch B Set and hot coffee. For an additional ₩1,000, we chose paccheri cream pasta and a soft jambon-beurre.

We arrived a little early for brunch. The cookies and jambon-beurre appeared to be made in-house, which gave me confidence.

Which floor was best for brunch seating?

The second floor also had a pleasant atmosphere, but fewer tables than the other floors. We took our pager and went up to the third floor.

The third floor had no counter or staff area, leaving a spacious room filled with tables. The antique interior felt cozy, so we settled there.

What was in the Brunch B Set, and how did it taste?

About 10 minutes later, the pager buzzed. The brunch was served on a double tray.

After taking photos of it on the tray, I set the dishes down separately to make eating easier.

Paccheri is a thick, large tube-shaped pasta. It came with bacon and mushrooms, and the cream sauce tasted rich. I found it satisfying even compared with a plate from a pasta specialty restaurant.

Next, I had the soft jambon-beurre made with ciabatta bread.

The ham, butter, and arugula gave it a clean taste.

As a set, it also felt reasonably priced. If I were passing through Dongchon Resort around brunch time, this is a combination I would want to have again.

Are there seats suitable for visiting with children?

The fourth floor was not as large as the third, but it had a rooftop and floor-seating tables. If I were out with a young child, I thought it would be worth looking at the fourth-floor seating as well.
