Dong, Daegu café for waffles and pasta: Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch

On a rainy weekend, I went to Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점) for waffles my child likes. The address is 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu, and the hours listed in the original post are 10:00–23:00.

Was it convenient to drive there on a rainy day?

The café is near the edge of Dongchon Resort. Its parking lot is spacious, so it was convenient to visit by car even in heavy rain.

Hands Coffee is a large café using the second through fourth floors of the building. There was a restaurant on the first floor.

What were the weekend-morning atmosphere and window view like?

The interior had an antique, tranquil feel. The ceilings were high and there were many kinds of seating. On the weekend morning I visited, it was not crowded, making it a pleasant place to spend time quietly.

After looking around, I sat where Haemaji Bridge could be seen at a glance through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The view outside was also one of the satisfying parts of this visit.

What dessert and meal options were there?

The waffle options included blueberry cream cheese, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, matcha red bean paste, and granola peanut cream, and there were several kinds of cake as well.

There were also brunch options that could serve as a meal, including sandwiches, pasta, and salads. The coffee and drink selection was varied too. This time, the creamy mushroom pasta, which I had not seen before, caught my eye.

I ordered creamy mushroom pasta, an ice cream waffle, a whipped cream cappuccino, and a café latte.

What was the ice cream waffle texture like?

I always enjoy ordering waffles at Hands Coffee. This time, I chose the ice cream waffle my child likes.

The glutinous rice waffle came with two flavors of Häagen-Dazs ice cream and soft whipped cream. The waffle was crisp outside and chewy inside, and I enjoyed it.

Did my child enjoy the creamy mushroom pasta too?

The creamy mushroom pasta had a thick mushroom sauce with a subtle truffle aroma. The browned mushrooms and sauce went well together.

When I ate it, it did not taste strongly seasoned or have a spicy pepper flavor, and the noodles were an easy size to eat in one bite. A cream pasta I had ordered at another branch before was slightly spicy, so my child did not eat much of it; this dish, however, was eaten well without hesitation. I was pleased to share it with my child.

What was the whipped cream cappuccino like?

The whipped cream cappuccino combined thick, sweet cream with coffee that was bitter yet smooth. After the waffles and pasta, I spent time unhurriedly over coffee.
