Why did I use a car glass oil-film remover?
Even though I wash my car regularly, there was still something lacking with the glass. Even after wiping away the moisture, the glass felt hazy on rainy days or while driving at night, and running the wipers did not leave it feeling fully clear. I thought an oil film might be the cause, so I tried AutoGrooming Car Glass Oil-Film Remover.
The process looked simple enough to use without any fuss during a self-service car wash. Before applying it, I washed the car first.
How did I use it after washing the car?
After finishing the wash, I applied a small amount to the glass and buffed it with a dry towel. The product directions said the oil film could be removed with about five rubs. When I used it, I felt the surface change even when I buffed lightly without using much force.
Right after buffing, the glass surface felt smoother. When I sprayed water on it, the droplets had previously spread out widely and remained like a film. Afterward, the water rolled right off, leaving the glass looking cleaner.
How did rainy-day visibility change?
The biggest change I noticed was during actual driving. On rainy days, the view through the windshield felt clearer than before, and there was hardly any feeling of a residual water film after the wipers passed. What stood out to me was that my view felt much more comfortable while driving.
Did I try it on bathroom shower glass too?
I also tried it on the water marks and oil film left on the bathroom shower enclosure glass. I buffed it in the same way I had used it on the car glass, and the surface looked much cleaner. I was happy that I could use it at home as well as on vehicle glass.
Was it a hassle to add to a self-service car wash?
I normally do not reach for car-wash products with a complicated process, but this one could be used quickly at the final stage of the wash, so it did not feel burdensome. I thought it would be worth using for regular glass care, too.
At first, I had heard it was a newly released product, so I was worried about what it would be like to use. After trying it myself, the process was not complicated, and I could notice changes in both the glass surface and rainy-day visibility, so I was personally satisfied.
