Seomyeon teppanyaki bar, Busan: 35-year chef's Set A at Teppan King

Teppan King is a teppanyaki izakaya (Japanese-style pub) near Exits 4 and 6 of Seomyeon Station in Busan, run by an owner-chef with 35 years of teppanyaki experience. On a second-round visit, the writer ordered Teppan King's Set A (special okonomiyaki plus special yakisoba) and grilled chicken neck with kimchi geotjeori (fresh, lightly seasoned kimchi), all cooked on the teppan with a fire show. Freshly grilled teppanyaki with a beer makes Teppan King a bar worth recommending near Seomyeon Station.

Galbi noodles on a humid day near Seomyeon Station: Gang Galbitang

Gang Galbitang (강갈비탕) Seomyeon is a galbitang (beef short rib soup) restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 11 of Seomyeon Station in Busan, serving galbitang, galbi gukbap and galbi noodles made with noodles shipped from Jeju. On a hot, humid day the writer ate alone, ordering level-1 spicy galbitang with a double portion of glass noodles plus the galbi noodles; the hanwoo bone broth was rich yet clean, and the ribs were tender enough to pull apart with chopsticks. For a filling soup meal around ₩10,000 in Seomyeon, Gang Galbitang satisfies from the very first visit.
