Daegu hair salon for curly hair: volume magic + layers, Iggeulrida
In short
Iggeulrida (이끌리다) is a one-stylist hair salon on the first floor of Casa Mila by Sincheon Station in Dong-gu, Daegu. Long, curly hair that was frizzy with flyaway ends was tamed with a high-layered cut and volume magic (a Korean straightening perm), and the Iggeulrida owner had the writer practise blow-drying with a brush right in the chair. For curly hair that wants light layers and smooth shine, the high-layered cut and volume magic combination at Iggeulrida is well worth considering.

My hair had been looking messy lately, so I changed up my hairstyle for a mood refresh. I wondered where to go and ended up at Iggeulrida (이끌리다), a salon in Dong-gu, Daegu with a reputation for great hair work. Short version: I'm completely happy, a total success! So I'm leaving a detailed review for anyone who, like me, wants to turn messy hair into something neat and trendy!
Iggeulrida hair salon location and how to book
Iggeulrida is a hair salon near Dongdaegu Station, on the first floor of Building 101, Casa Mila, Sincheon Station, 29 Dongbu-ro, Dong-gu, Daegu. It's a one-stylist salon, so booking through Naver is a must!
How do you get into the Casa Mila parking lot?

Casa Mila's parking lot has separate entrance and exit. The entrance is below Creamy House, and the spot below Iggeulrida is the exit! The passages are narrow, so drive carefully~!

Take the elevator up from the parking lot and you'll find Iggeulrida right there.

Inside Iggeulrida

Iggeulrida stands out for its stylish interior. It's a one-stylist salon, so I arrived at my booked time. The shop is so pretty that being pampered there just feels great, right~? They have coffee and lots of tasty teas too!
My hair before the service, and the consultation

My natural hair was just long, with ends that flared out, and on top of that a bit of curl made it frizzy. A total mess, honestly. I wanted a light feel from a trendy high-layered cut, and I wanted the frizzy curl calmed down with volume magic straightening.
As soon as I arrived, the stylist looked carefully at my hair condition and kindly talked me through which cut line would suit my face shape and my usual styling. My trust shot up right from there! ✨
What is a high-layered cut?
A high-layered cut places the layers a little higher to bring out a light, sophisticated mood! It's a perfect design if you have thick hair or want volume and dimension. The Iggeulrida stylist cuts the layers with detailed hands so they swish softly, and while she cut, I looked in the mirror and was already smiling at how light it felt.

Why I paired volume magic straightening with the cut for curly hair
The treatment I had along with the cut was volume magic (a straightening perm). When hair is frizzy or curly, even a beautiful cut sometimes won't give you the silhouette you want, right?
I have curly hair, so straightening is a must for me, and I'm so satisfied because Iggeulrida's volume magic doesn't make hair stick flat to the head. It just adds shine and calm. Together with the high-layered cut, the light movement of the layers stays while the whole look feels tidy, which I loved. I could expect a different mood from the cut alone, so I felt I'd done well to choose both.

The pumpkin tea I drank while waiting
While my hair was being finished, they served tea and snacks. I had pumpkin tea (hobak-cha) and it was so delicious that I ordered some pumpkin tea, from a different brand though~~!!><

The finished hair and how to style it at home
The key to this hairstyle is the combination of a light layered silhouette and calm, tidy hair. With a style like this, it's not only the cut line that matters but also how you style it day to day.
The Iggeulrida stylist explained in great detail how to style easily and how to handle my hair while drying it, which helped a lot. She even had me hold the brush and practice myself! Kindness itself~!!
If you want to move away from heavy, blunt hair toward something lighter and more sophisticated, combining a high-layered cut with volume magic seems like a good choice!
Who I'd recommend it to
- Anyone who wants to keep long hair but change the mood
- Anyone who prefers a light layered style over heavy hair
- Anyone who wants to calm frizzy hair
- Anyone considering a high-layered cut and volume magic together
- Anyone looking for a hair salon in Dong-gu, Daegu
The mood of a hairstyle changes with the combination of cut and treatment, so it seems important to think about the look you want beforehand and then go to your consultation. If you want a light layered style and calm hair like me, check out Iggeulrida's combination of high-layered cut and volume magic!
