Namseong-ro, Daegu dog café with teens on summer break: Daenghaus
In short
Daenghaus&Bingsuking (댕하우스&빙수킹) is a dog-friendly café in a standalone building behind the red bean bun building on Namseong-ro's Modern Alley in Jung-gu, Daegu, with a 1st-floor café, a 2nd-floor puppy kindergarten and hotel, and a dog pool. The writer walked to Daenghaus&Bingsuking on a weekend with their early-teen kids and no dog, and rested over drinks while the kids played with gentle dogs instead of their phones. Verdict: Daenghaus&Bingsuking is a good Daegu dog café to visit with teenagers over summer break, even without a dog of your own.

I heard a brand-new dog-friendly café had opened in Daegu, so on the weekend I went to Daenghaus&Bingsuking with my family.

Where is Daenghaus&Bingsuking, and what about parking?
Daenghaus&Bingsuking is in Jung-gu, Daegu, behind the red bean bun building on Namseong-ro Modern Alley. Head into the restaurant alley and you'll spot it right away, since it's a standalone building. There's a paid parking lot in front, so take note if you're driving.
I live nearby, so we walked. It's also not far on foot from Hyundai Department Store, so I think you could easily come by subway too.

Can you use the 1st-floor café without a dog?
The whole building is a space for dogs, and the 1st floor works as a café. Maybe because it's new, it's huge, so it feels open and roomy, a pretty good place to relax.

You can bring your dog, or just use it as a café like we did and watch the doggies play. The tables are spaced widely, so the pups can scamper around, and there are plush sofa seats too, so it looks comfy for resting.
My kids are early teens, but they love playing with dogs, so I think Daenghaus&Bingsuking works well as a place to take kids in Daegu.

The 2nd-floor puppy kindergarten and hotel
The 2nd floor is a doggy kindergarten, and you can see the pool through the window. There's a hotel too, so if you're looking for a puppy kindergarten or dog hotel, Daenghaus&Bingsuking is now an option.

The restroom is very clean, and the interior is decorated so luxuriously that I kept marveling at how upscale it felt the whole time.

You can also pick up some basic pet supplies, so just ask the owner about that.

Menu and how to order at Daenghaus&Bingsuking
You order at a kiosk. There were lots of desserts, meals and drinks, so it's nice that you can eat well while playing with the dogs.

There were coffees, but also plenty of drinks suitable for kids, and true to the name, a wide range of bingsu (Korean shaved ice).

Why it's a good summer break outing with kids
The whole place is very clean. I think it's a solid pick for somewhere to take kids in Daegu this summer break and have a good time.

The dogs who came to play were mostly gentle, so they played nicely even with my kids, who they'd never met.
Dog pool and shower/drying area
There's a pool too, and the owner was putting a dog on a float. Coming in the hot summer, everyone could cool off together. There's also an area for washing and caring for the dogs after swimming, so showering and drying them right after playing in the water seems convenient.

I saw cakes for dessert, and lots of people were eating bingsu. The food is more varied than I expected, so staying a while wouldn't be a problem.

Teens playing with dogs instead of phones
Watching my kids have such a good time with the pretty dogs at Daenghaus&Bingsuking made me happy too. I sipped a cool drink while they played without looking at their phones, so I think we'll have to come here often.
They had supplies ready, so the kids played with things like stuffed toys. Above all, the kids loved it, so I think I'll be stopping by Daenghaus&Bingsuking a lot.
