Busan Station pork galbi lunch set for two: Choryang Hyeongje Galbi
In short
Choryang Hyeongje Galbi is a second-generation pork galbi (marinated pork ribs) restaurant on the Choryangcheon pork galbi alley in Dong-gu, Busan. The writer ordered the Hyeongje Lunch Set (형제점심밥상, ₩13,000) for 2, which came with the same side dishes as dinner, 2 servings of pork galbi, doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and rice; staff grilled the marinated pork galbi, which was well seasoned and tender. For a good-value Korean BBQ lunch near Busan Station, the Hyeongje Lunch Set at Choryang Hyeongje Galbi is a solid choice.

I heard there's a great pork galbi place on Choryang-cheon near Busan Station, and of course I couldn't resist and went. What?? Pork galbi near Busan Station?? No way I'm holding back, let's crush it!!!!!!

The Busan Station pork galbi hotspot: Choryang Hyeongje Galbi (초량형제갈비)!

Where is Choryang Hyeongje Galbi?
Choryang Hyeongje Galbi is on the pork galbi alley by Choryang-cheon in Dong-gu, Busan, on the street just above Choryang Traditional Market. It's within walking distance of the KTX stop at Busan Station that everyone passes through when visiting Busan, so it's easy to drop by on a trip.

How to get to Choryang Hyeongje Galbi and where to park
By public transit, the Choryang Market Entrance bus stop and Choryang Station Exit 1 are the closest. If you drive, parking at the building is hard, so you'll need to find a nearby paid lot yourself.

Inside Choryang Hyeongje Galbi: atmosphere and seating
Inside are roughly 6–7 tables for four, and it has that roomy, homey, old-local-favorite feel, which I loved. Turns out it's run by the second generation.
When this Yeongdo-gu resident (me!) visited, the place was so packed that just one seat was open, so I couldn't take proper photos, which is a shame. But I thought, oh, this is a real Busan Station local spot, and I got excited for the food.

What's on the menu at Choryang Hyeongje Galbi?
Choryang Hyeongje Galbi sells pork galbi, pork belly, pork neck, raw galbi and more, and meat meals start at 3 servings. The lunch special is the Hyeongje lunch set (형제점심밥상).
Other dishes include cold kimchi noodle soup, seafood ramyeon, kimchi kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), doenjang stew and rice, and they also sell alcohol and soft drinks.

Are the lunch set's side dishes the same as at dinner?
I was told the side dishes of the Hyeongje lunch set are exactly the same as when you grill meat at dinner. After I sat down and ordered it, the sides kept coming and coming, seriously!!!! hahahaha
The sides included ssam vegetables (leaf wraps), kabocha squash, white kimchi, scallion kimchi, napa cabbage kimchi, king oyster mushrooms, kimchi pancake, chili peppers, garlic, steamed egg, pickles and so on, plus an insanely bitter... gi-ginseng....(?) (hahahahahaha). Every single side was tasty. As the dishes kept arriving I thought the lunch special's sides were seriously generous, and then found out it's the same lineup as dinner.

What's in the Hyeongje Lunch Set (₩13,000) for two?
I ordered the Hyeongje lunch set (₩13,000) for 2. Along with the sides listed above, it came with rice, 2 servings of pork galbi and doenjang stew.

How does the pork galbi taste? (₩12,000 à la carte)
The signature pork galbi is ₩12,000 à la carte, with 200g per serving, and the lunch special gives you 2 servings. Honestly, given the price and the spread of sides, I didn't expect them to grill it for us, but a staff member grilled the marinated pork galbi right at the table, super fast, which was great hahahahahaha

When I tasted the grilled marinated galbi, the seasoning was scarily (in a good way) on point with a gentle sweetness rising up, and I loved it. The meat itself was soft and tender too. So delicious..

Verdict: is Choryang Hyeongje Galbi worth it for a pork galbi lunch near Busan Station?
As you'd expect from a spot on the pork galbi alley near Choryang-cheon, the pork galbi was delicious, and I liked the Hyeongje lunch set lineup too. Maybe because it's such good value, lots of groups were having gatherings there. This Yeongdo-gu resident who loves pork galbi wants to come back, so if you're looking for a good place near Busan Station, I recommend Choryang Hyeongje Galbi.
