Weekday lunch pho set and peanut-sauce chả giò in Jeongja-dong: Kkamon

Yesterday I went to Jeongja to hang out with my bestie for the first time in a while :) Jeongja-dong has so many good places to eat, it's a neighborhood I really love. This one might be in my top three restaurants I've tried in Jeongja-dong haha

The place we went yesterday was Kkamon~~ I'm already a Vietnamese food lover, I love Vietnam itself. My friend and I often eat Vietnamese food together, so I was even more excited for this restaurant.

And for me who loves that so much... eating lunch at Kkamon (camon) was a total success! It's a great restaurant so let me introduce it right away.

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store: a 10-minute walk from Jeongja Station

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is about a 10-minute walk from Jeongja Station. The shopping street along the way is well developed, so it's walkable! And the weather was so nice haha good good.

Ahh the exterior has that Vietnam feel too ㅠㅠ send me to Vietnam right now. I went twice last year but zero times this year ;; please send me now, ugh. Anyway Kkamon was pretty from the exterior design onward..

Inside Kkamon and its self-serve bar: is there seating for solo diners?

Inside Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store there are 4-person tables, and there's also solo seating, so it's great for eating alone too. The self-serve bar is stocked with side plates, utensils, and even kids' tableware.

Since I visited during lunchtime, I took photos avoiding the seated guests! The inside felt really clean and hygienic.

There was kids' tableware, and even floss and hair ties that are perfect for right before you leave~~!! Such thoughtful touches at this place.

What's on the Kkamon menu, and what did we order?

The Kkamon menu is divided into noodles, rice dishes, and sides. I ordered the pho + water spinach set, Kkamon fried rice, and cha gio :)

I love banh mi so much I wanted to order that too, but eating it along with rice felt like too much!! I liked that instead of ordering a whole plate of water spinach, you could get a smaller side portion to go with the meal.

Almost everything we ordered came out at the same time! It all looked so delicious, right >.<

Kkamon's pho was loaded with bean sprouts and meat, plus onions, which was just right. Dipping it in chili sauce is so good, you know. Coming with the water spinach on the side to eat together was also really good.

The water spinach portion was generous too~~ The seasoning was just right for getting your appetite going!👍👍 Great value, so I definitely recommend ordering the set. So so recommended.

How big is the Kkamon fried rice portion?

And then the Kkamon fried rice! This was a pork fried rice, and the portion was seriously almost two servings? The portion size was huge haha. It was seasoned really well and delicious. My friend mixed it up nicely for us haha. Total generosity itself.

Lastly, the cha gio! We finished them all - the outside had a slightly chewy, summer-roll-like texture. It suited my taste perfectly! The inside felt like dumpling filling~~ dipping it in peanut sauce made it even more delicious. Cha gio is highly recommended too!! Every menu item was solidly done plus extra, with more depth of flavor than expected.

Is Kkamon worth it for lunch in Jeongja-dong?

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store was a really great match for me, a genuine Vietnam lover.

✔️ The broth was rich yet clean with no off smell, and the combination of chewy noodles and generous meat was very very good 👍 ✔️ The cha gio and water spinach we ordered together were also satisfying, making this a great, no-pressure meal. ✔️ The clean store atmosphere plus friendly service make me want to come back again

If you like pho, I definitely recommend visiting. This was a place where you could really feel authentic Vietnamese flavors!!
