I went to Air Salon, a hair salon in Goeup, Yangju. I woke up early in a rush, ate breakfast, washed up quickly, and headed out! Since I had to transfer buses, I was worried about being late, so I ended up not washing my hair beforehand;;;

Air Salon is located near the TS Pureunsol apartments and the Sannaedeul Maeul Hanyang Sujain apartments. I rode the bus early in the morning taking in the scenery, and it was so refreshing. Maybe because it was a day off, I was having a great time even alone. I listened to Big Bang the whole ride^^ That was way too much t.m.i.;;;

What is Air Salon like inside?

The inside of the salon was bright and clean overall. They said the lighting had just been renovated recently, and when I visited it was right after the construction so things looked a bit unsettled, but it actually made me look forward to the freshly updated space.

I had a 9am appointment but arrived about 30 minutes early. Even so, the owner kindly showed me to a seat and got started right away despite my early arrival, so I could relax and settle in. As I mentioned earlier, I came without washing my hair,,, so it had a proper bird's nest going on hahaha.

Why the cut at Air Salon turned into a cut plus down perm

I originally only planned to get a cut at Air Salon, but the owner said it would look prettier if we did a down perm together, so I went along with it. Before the consultation, I showed her photos from a hairstyle I'd gotten at another salon recently.

So we went ahead with the cut and then the down perm. I could tell she was handling my hair very meticulously. Early on, we communicated well about what style I wanted, and I loved that she tailored it to fit my head shape. There was another customer getting her hair done next to me, and the owner was communicating just as diligently(?) with her too. Nonstop communication,,, I really love that about her haha.

So how did my hair turn out? Reveal in 60 seconds. Sorry,,, that's an old phrase from Superstar K (a national audition show that used to air on Mnet, often shortened to Slice-K), but I doubt the younger kids these days know it,,, old-crack-up!!!

How did the down perm look on thick straight hair?

The cut and down perm at Air Salon left the lines nicely defined and very neat. I really, REALLY loved it. My hair is stubbornly straight, the kind that's hard to style even with a down perm, and yet the result came out exactly how I wanted — I was so happy.

After the service, the owner suggested I think about a perm next time. She recommended an iron perm. My friends always tell me perms suit me way better, so I guess,,, people's eyes are pretty much all the same haha.

When I got home with my new hair, my sister laughed and showered me with compliments. She doesn't usually compliment much, so if even she said it looked good, that says it all right? Haha. Anyway, I'd like to take this chance to thank the owner for doing my hair. If I get the chance, I plan to come back again.
