Hot pot restaurant in Goyang: dumpling shabu for two at Mansori

In short

Mansori Sogogi Gukbap is a hanwoo beef gukbap (beef and rice soup) and dumpling hot pot restaurant on Hoguk-ro in Daeja-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a public holiday visit at 4pm, the shabu mandu jeongol for two (30,000 won) came packed with thin-skinned pi mandu and rolled gurim mandu, and the owner makes every side dish in house, so the meal tasted clean rather than heavy. With free parking and plenty of seats, Mansori Sogogi Gukbap works for group dinners and family gatherings as well.

Today I want to introduce Mansori Sogogi Gukbap, a restaurant in Daeja-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang known for its hanwoo (Korean beef) gukbap (beef and rice soup), dumpling hot pot, and Hamhung-style naengmyeon (cold noodles) 😊

Mansori Sogogi Gukbap opening hours

They're open daily from 09:00 to 21:00. I heard they operate normally without closed days unless something special comes up. I visited around 4pm on a public holiday, a bit of an early dinner slot, and I liked that it wasn't too crowded!

The inside was really clean and spacious~ Seating that's not intimidating at all even for a group ❗️

As the name suggests, this place specializes in beef gukbap, but beyond the soup there's shabu mandu jeongol, duck meat, naengmyeon, and more, so it was a good spot to suit different tastes.

I'd seen a lot of good reviews about the shabu mandu jeongol before visiting, so we ordered the shabu mandu jeongol for two (30,000 won) to try it ourselves.

Self-serve bar and homemade side dishes

✅ Self-serve bar "A clean, mild taste you can feel the care in" The biggest feature of this place is that everything, overall, is clean and not overly seasoned. Not just the main dish but every single side dish is made in-house, I was told. You could really taste the care put into it, so I could enjoy it worry-free.

Pi mandu and gurim mandu (dumplings): how much do you get?

✅ Pi mandu & gurim mandu "A generous serving with two different charms" The portion is generous enough for two adult women to share comfortably. It comes packed with fresh vegetables and shabu-style beef, and above all, the dumplings, the star of the dish, are stuffed full!

They come in two types, so it was fun comparing their different charms as we ate.

✔️ Flavor notes The dumplings, too, whether meat or kimchi, weren't heavily seasoned or intense — instead they brought out the clean, deep flavor of the ingredients themselves.

How to get the most out of the dumpling hot pot

💡 A tip for enjoying shabu mandu jeongol even more 💡 The clean, mild broth is great on its own, but if you prefer a richer, thicker 'jinguk' style broth, try adding the rice cakes or noodle sari that come with it a bit earlier and let them simmer 👍🏻 The broth thickens up nicely for an even deeper, richer flavor.

Final verdict on Mansori Sogogi Gukbap

➰ Pleasant space and plenty of parking It might be a bit awkward to reach by public transit, so I'd recommend driving :) There's plenty of parking.

➰ Varied menu We had the shabu mandu jeongol, but looking around, quite a few other customers were ordering duck meat. With duck, hot pot, gukbap, and naengmyeon all on offer, there's a wide range of choices to suit anyone.

➰ Great for group gatherings The restaurant is spacious, pleasant, and has plenty of seating. With ample parking too, it would work well as a spot for a group dinner or family gathering.

If you're after a clean, easy-on-the-stomach meal, or planning a pleasant get-together somewhere spacious and comfortable, I'd recommend giving 'Mansori Sogogi Gukbap' a visit ❗️

Extra note++)) I heard the beef gukbap is simmered fresh every morning. The gurim mandu jeongol also uses hand-made dumplings. Leftover food is never reused, and everything served here is made in-house 👍🏻 Hope this info helps you have a good meal ^^!
