When you want pasta and steak together, even choosing what to order—and the price—can quietly become a dilemma. Cream and oil pasta are great too, but I was craving something spicier and more refreshing that day, so I ordered the seafood hangover tomato pasta at Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch (파스타한끼 노원본점). I also wanted a meat dish, so I added the BBQ chopped steak. And at this price... I was surprised when paying, and surprised again by the food!
To give the conclusion first, both the price and the food were satisfying. As its name suggests, the seafood hangover tomato pasta came with plenty of squid and other seafood in a spicy tomato sauce, while the BBQ chopped steak was tender rather than tough, making it easy to enjoy.
Even the garlic bread served before the meal was crisp on the outside and moist inside, so this was a satisfying meal from the very beginning.

What I ordered at Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch
This time, I tried the seafood hangover tomato pasta and BBQ chopped steak. Rather than ordering pasta alone, putting a spicy, brothy pasta and a meat dish together made the spread feel far more substantial. There were also sides such as pre-meal garlic bread, pickles, and jalapeños, which made it nice to switch up the flavors as I ate.
The hangover tomato pasta in particular came with more sauce than a typical tomato pasta, so alternating it with the chopped steak kept the richness nicely in check.

Crisp outside, moist inside garlic bread to start
The pre-meal garlic bread arrived first after ordering. Garlic and herbs sat on top of the nicely browned bread, and it looked crisp just from the sight of it. When I tried it, the outside was lightly crisp while the inside was moist rather than overly dry. “Crisp outside, moist inside” really was the perfect description.
The garlic flavor did not hit too aggressively; instead, it naturally blended with a nutty buttery flavor, making it easy to eat before the meal. Once the pasta sauce arrived, dipping the garlic bread I had saved into the sauce also worked wonderfully. The tomato sauce soaked into the crisp bread, making it feel like another dish altogether.
Spicy seafood hangover tomato pasta
The dish I was most curious about that day was the seafood hangover tomato pasta. A typical tomato pasta brings to mind sauce coating the noodles just enough, but true to the “hangover” in its name, this one arrived with a generous amount of brothy tomato sauce.
Noodles, seafood, and garlic chips came together in a red tomato sauce for a pretty striking look. One bite brings tomato’s tangy, rich flavor along with a warming spice. It is not simply intensely hot; the savory depth of the tomato sauce supports it and keeps you reaching for more noodles. If you like tomato pasta but want something with more of a spicy kick, this is a dish worth noticing.

Loaded with seafood, including squid
True to the name seafood hangover tomato pasta, the seafood stands out right away. The photos show clams, squid, shrimp, and more, and there is a fairly generous amount of ingredients in the sauce too. It is not a pasta where you only eat noodles; picking out seafood along the way is part of the fun.
The chewy texture of the squid works especially well against the soft noodles. The clams add their distinct seafood savoriness, and the shrimp makes the tomato sauce feel even more abundant. The crisp garlic chips scattered on top are a great touch, too. When a garlic chip crunches in among the moist noodles and sauce, it adds a nutty, crisp texture and keeps things from becoming one-note.
Spicy, but with proper tomato flavor
The word “hangover” may make you think it will be extremely spicy, but personally, it felt closer to a warming spicy tomato pasta than one where heat comes first. There is plenty of sauce, so it follows the noodles with every bite, and the seafood’s savory flavor makes me keep reaching for the broth too.
The red chilies dotted throughout give it a definite spicy kick. Tomato acidity, spice, and seafood savoriness come together at once, giving it a personality clearly different from ordinary tomato pasta. It would suit days when you are craving something spicy and comforting, like the day after drinks, as well as anyone who usually likes pasta with plenty of sauce.
BBQ chopped steak shines with its tender texture
The BBQ chopped steak I ordered with the pasta was satisfying too. Large-cut pieces of meat were coated in a rich sauce and topped generously with crisp garlic chips. Vegetables, fries, and dipping sauce all came on one plate, so the dish itself felt quite hearty.

Most importantly, the meat was softer than expected
Chopped steak can easily become tough if the meat is even slightly overcooked, but the meat I had that day came in easy bite-size pieces and was not burdensome to chew. The moist meat and sweet-salty BBQ-style sauce make for a flavor almost anyone can enjoy comfortably. The combination of meat and garlic chips is quite good too. Eating the tender meat with crisp garlic chips really brings the texture to life.
With fries and dipping sauce
One side of the BBQ chopped steak plate held a generous portion of fries. They were thick-cut fries, perfect for picking up one at a time between bites of meat. Dip them in the separately served sauce, and you get another combination alongside the meat’s rich flavor.
The vegetables in the chopped steak had absorbed the sauce well, so they were good with the meat too. Alternating vegetables and fries instead of eating meat continuously kept the plate from becoming monotonous. In particular, a bite of spicy hangover tomato pasta followed by tender chopped steak lets the spicy and sweet-salty flavors alternate, and the two dishes go very well together.

Freshen up with pickles and jalapeños
The pickles and jalapeños that came to the table are also a combination I would miss with pasta and chopped steak. The sweet-tangy pickles freshen the palate after rich tomato or BBQ sauce, while the jalapeños add a sharp heat that went especially well with the meat.
The seafood hangover tomato pasta is already spicy, but adding a jalapeño or two is also nice when you want a different kind of heat. I ordered two rich, sauce-heavy dishes, but these sides meant they never felt overly heavy through the last bite.

When you want pasta and steak together
The seafood hangover tomato pasta and BBQ chopped steak I tried at Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch have distinctly different personalities, which makes them great to order together. The seafood hangover tomato pasta is all about its spicy, rich tomato sauce and seafood savoriness. You can pick out clams, squid, shrimp, and other ingredients along with the noodles, and its generous brothiness gives it a different charm from a typical tomato pasta.
The BBQ chopped steak is filling, with tender meat, rich sauce, garlic chips, vegetables, and fries. I was especially pleased that the meat was not tough, and a piece between bites of spicy pasta made for a great pairing.

This meal at Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch started on a happy note with the pre-meal garlic bread. The bread had that lovely crisp-outside, moist-inside texture, while the seafood hangover tomato pasta was full of squid and other seafood in a spicy tomato sauce, bringing rich savory flavor.
The BBQ chopped steak had tender bite-size pieces of meat, and it was also fun to eat with crisp garlic chips, fries, and vegetables. Ordering the spicy pasta and tender chopped steak together made the meal feel even more abundant, as their different flavors worked so well together.
A great pairing to recommend in Nowon when you want pasta that is spicier and more refreshing than an ordinary tomato pasta, or when you want to enjoy pasta and steak at the same time.
