Yeoju dakgalbi restaurant near the Insect Museum: Seorak Makguksu
In short
Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch is a charcoal-grilled dakgalbi (spicy grilled chicken) and makguksu (chilled buckwheat noodle) restaurant on Sejong-ro in Yeoju, Gyeonggi. After a trip to the Yeoju Insect Museum, a group of four — the writer, her mother, her husband and a baby — ordered 2 servings of charcoal spicy marinated dakgalbi and 1 serving of charcoal soy sauce dakgalbi at 16,000 won each, plus bibim makguksu and jatmul (pine nut broth) makguksu at 10,000 won each and a 4,000 won doenjang stew. The wide dining room, baby chairs and self-serve side dish bar made Seorak Makguksu easy for a family dinner, and mixing both dakgalbi flavors with both makguksu styles was the best way to order for a group.

After visiting the Yeoju Insect Museum, my mom, husband, baby and I went for dinner at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch. My mom loved it too, and my husband, the baby and I were all really satisfied — so I wanted to share this Yeoju spot.
Where is Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch, and what are the hours?
Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch is at 483 Sejong-ro, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's close to Yeoju IC and also easy to reach from Yeoju Premium Outlets. We visited after the Yeoju Insect Museum that day, and the route worked out well.

The posted hours were 11:30–21:30, with a break time from 15:30–16:30 and last order at 20:30. Closed every Tuesday.

There was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, so it was easy to visit by car.

It's a sizable place that's easy to spot even from a distance, and you can walk straight in from the parking lot, which made it convenient with a baby.

Is Seorak Makguksu easy to visit with a baby?
Once inside Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch, the interior was spacious and kept clean overall. Grilled-meat restaurants like this can get greasy fast if they're not maintained — haha!

Customers kept coming and going the whole time we ate. Tables were plentiful and a baby chair was available, making it good for families, and it also seemed like a fine spot for group gatherings or work dinners. In fact, we saw quite a few other tables with babies besides ours.

There was also a self-serve bar where you could grab extra side dishes, which was convenient. Overall it felt well-kept and clean.

What four of us ordered: 3 servings of dakgalbi and two makguksu
With three adults and one baby, we ordered 2 servings of soy-marinade dakgalbi and 1 serving of soy-sauce dakgalbi, plus one each of bibim makguksu and jatmul makguksu. We also added rice and doenjang stew for the baby.

Spicy marinated vs. soy sauce charcoal dakgalbi: which tastes better?
The dakgalbi at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch comes pre-cooked once. Both the soy-marinade and soy-sauce versions were delicious.

The soy-marinade one was sweet and spicy with a charcoal aroma that suited it well, while the soy-sauce one had a savory, salty flavor with that same charcoal smokiness added on top!
Personally, I leaned slightly toward the soy-sauce version. But it feels like a shame to recommend just one, since they taste so different — if you're going with a group, it's worth mixing both.

Jatmul makguksu or bibim makguksu — which should you order?
The makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) was satisfying too.

I was especially curious about the jatmul makguksu since it was my first time trying it, and the subtle pine nut aroma and nutty flavor went surprisingly well with the cool noodles. I preferred the jatmul makguksu, but my husband said the bibim makguksu was great too, haha.
Since we also ordered rice and doenjang stew for the baby, the three adults split two bowls of makguksu between us. Having tried it, I think if you normally eat a full portion, one bowl per person would be totally fine. It pairs so well with the dakgalbi that it feels like a shame to treat it as just a side.
Is Seorak Makguksu worth it for a family dinner in Yeoju?
Seorak Makguksu is a Yeoju restaurant that's great for ordering a variety — soy-marinade and soy-sauce dakgalbi, plus jatmul and bibim makguksu. They're good at everything!
I especially liked the soy-sauce dakgalbi and the jatmul makguksu, but my husband also enjoyed the bibim makguksu, so if you're visiting with several people, I'd recommend ordering a variety and sharing. The restaurant is spacious and clean, with a baby chair and self-serve bar, making it easy to visit as a family too. If you're looking for a hearty dakgalbi meal in Yeoju after an outing to the Yeoju Insect Museum or Yeoju Premium Outlets, this is a solid choice.
