I went on a 5-night, 6-day trip to Mongolia last week and got hooked on lamb. So I went looking for a good lamb skewer place and found one in Sannaemaeul with decent reviews — and it was delicious 😊

At Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao I stuffed myself with grilled lamb skewers, guobaorou, shrimp fried rice, and even fried dumplings until I was about to burst. Here's my honest review!

Parking and what the restaurant feels like inside
Since Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is on the 2nd floor, it's a bit hard to find at first — searching for "Sannaemaeul Bonjuk" will make it easier.
I used to come here a lot back in high school, so it's been a while. The parking lot spans basement floors B1 and B2.

I'm curious whether it can recreate the taste of the lamb I had in Mongolia 😁

Let me start with the parking info. Getting up to 3 hours of free parking is a huge plus — probably the biggest reason I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a bar in Unjeong too.

The store layout connects to the dining hall past the kitchen. There don't seem to be any separate private rooms.

I visited on a weekday at 6pm and already more tables were filled than empty 😮 There's clearly a reason it's famous both as a Chinese restaurant in Paju and a lamb skewer spot in Unjeong.

Most of the tables seat 4, with one 8-person table in the middle that's good for groups.

True to a lamb skewer restaurant, there's Chinese liquor (gaoliang) on display too.

Beer options range widely, including Chinese beers, so anyone who likes to drink will be happy 🤣

The owner was skewering the meat by hand, and I could already feel my mouth watering.
What to order, and how the Naver receipt review event works

True to a lamb skewer restaurant in Unjeong, there are a lot of lamb skewer options. First-timers might struggle to decide what to order. My tip: the classic combo is 1 serving of lamb skewers + 1 fried rice + guobaorou.

Besides that, there are really, really many other dishes... I also spotted 1-person and 2-person set menus.

I prepared some photos too. It was convenient that the skewer quantities are marked right next to each item on the menu.

I recommend the guobaorou because almost every table ordered it. Looking through blog posts, it turns out this place is also famous for its guobaorou 👍
There's a wide range of alcohol too, so you can pick whatever suits your taste.

With the Naver receipt review event, you get 1 free drink can or 5 free fried dumplings!!

Meat is best grilled over charcoal, of course. I ordered 1 serving of lamb skewers + guobaorou + large shrimp fried rice + 1 Terra beer.

The basic side dishes come like this. If you need more, there's a self-serve bar.

There were various side dishes and sauces to pick and dip, which was fun. I liked the basic flavors best, so cumin (jjiran) was my favorite.
Honest review: lamb skewers, guobaorou and extra-large shrimp fried rice
The lamb skewers came out first. They're cut into cute little cubes, so even kids could probably eat them easily.

It's been a while since I had lamb skewers, so I didn't know this, but once you press the fire switch and fit the skewer into the gear teeth, it rotates on its own and grills perfectly ???!
This new invention was so fascinating. I didn't have to worry much, which was great. My mom was worried about the lamb smell, but after tasting it she said it was so good she ate 4 skewers by herself...

Next up was the guobaorou. Honestly, I'm usually a dip-it-on-the-side kind of person, but even poured over with sauce, it was sweet and delicious? ㅋㅌㅎㅋㅎㅋ The portion was bigger than expected, so I packed the leftovers to take home.
Just in case, I ordered the shrimp fried rice as a large portion, and it turned out to be about 2 bowls of rice. The large portion is +₩2,000. It felt less like a meal and more like a salty drinking snack. Jjamppong broth is included free with every fried rice except the ₩8,000 shrimp egg fried rice.

They cook it so nicely on their own that all you need to do is dip it in cumin.

Bean sprouts came alongside too — wrapping them around the lamb skewers like a little bundle was really tasty 👍👍

These are the 5 fried dumplings I got free from the Naver receipt review event. Packed full of filling with great juiciness, and delicious to eat.
Why Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is worth it for lamb skewers in Unjeong
Grilling lamb skewers over charcoal on the auto-rotating rack, I couldn't detect any odor at all — while eating, I kept thinking, is this actually lamb?
People have left a lot of reviews calling it a guobaorou spot, and now I get why. It was even better than the guobaorou I had in Shanghai, China.
Last but not least, the egg fried rice and jjamppong broth I ordered were the perfect drinking snack! If you're looking for a lamb skewer spot in Unjeong or a bar in Unjeong, I'd recommend this place~!
