I was looking around for somewhere to eat meat in Gunsan and found a place with a genuinely fun name — a Korean BBQ restaurant decked out like a train station, Jongchagyeok Gunsan Branch (종착역 군산점) 🚂 I was curious about the food, but the concept itself had me even more excited to visit :)

The train-station exterior and the 'first-grill station'

True to its name, Jongchagyeok (meaning 'terminal station') is designed entirely around a train station concept! Arrived at the terminal station~ 🚂

They really commit to the concept, right? You could feel the train-station vibe before even stepping inside haha

Walk in and the flashy interior grabs your attention right away! There are props and phrases everywhere that evoke a train station, so it was genuinely fun just looking around :D I kept getting surprised, one thing after another ❤️

But that's not all! They bring out meat that's been pre-grilled, and the spot where that happens is literally called the 'pre-grill station' 😍

'The pre-grill train is now arriving at the terminal station~' 🚂 They even wrote little lines like this, so the concept was fully committed to haha

The menu covers everything from beef to pork, and they also sell fresh yukhoe (raw beef tartare)!

Staff grill your meat: the one-order-per-person rule

And here's the thing — the staff grill the meat for you! That's why, on your first order, everyone middle-school age and up must order at least one menu item ✨ Having someone else handle the grilling made things really comfortable :)

What's on the menu at Jongchagyeok Gunsan Branch

The menu is really extensive, isn't it? From beef and pork to side dishes, there's quite a lot, so it'd be great for a group where everyone picks what they want! I ended up ordering a little bit of everything that day haha

The self-serve banchan bar

The self-serve bar was set up neatly too! The whole place felt hygienically managed.

The vegetables were fresh and ready, great for wrapping with the meat :) Just grab whatever side dishes or veggies you need from the self-serve bar 👍

Sogalbisal for two at 37,800 won, eaten with myeongnan

What I ordered: sogalbisal (beef short rib flap) for two (₩37,800), mungteong salt-grilled pork neck (₩16,900), pork rind (₩8,900), yeolmu kimchi noodles (₩6,900), and cheese egg steamer (₩4,900). Starting with the sogalbisal, served neatly :) The meat looked great, glistening as it grilled on the pan haha

Once nicely grilled, the meat gets placed on a hot stone plate — this way it stays warm instead of cooling off, which I loved ❤️ Meat really does taste best warm 👍

It's great wrapped up with all kinds of vegetables — pa-kimchi (scallion kimchi) on the left, myeongnan (salted pollock roe) on the right, and honestly the myeongnan-with-meat combo worked way better than I expected! The myeongnan was a total win lol

How the staff grill the mungteong salt-grilled pork neck, 16,900 won

The pork neck came out pre-grilled and looking delicious!

Pre-grilled mungteong salt-grilled pork neck served whole

At first they grill it whole so the juices don't escape, then once it's cooked enough, they cut it into bite-sized pieces and keep grilling :)

Grilled this way, the outside turns golden brown while the inside stays juicy — that golden-brown color was amazing~ 😍 Not having to manage the grilling myself made eating totally stress-free haha

Pork rind at 8,900 won, grilled yourself

And then, one of my favorites — pork rind!!! So chewy, genuinely amazing 😂 (Note: pork rind you have to grill yourself!)

Grilled until golden brown, it's great dipped in bean powder, and also great dipped in the spicy, moist sauce! If you love a chewy texture, you have to try the pork rind here!

Cheese egg steamer, 4,900 won, and yeolmu kimchi noodles, 6,900 won

And the fluffy cheese egg steamer! I ordered it as a side to go with the meat, and it really did pair well ❤️ Warm and soft, perfect to eat in between bites of meat :)

Oh, and this is the real MVP!! The yeolmu kimchi noodles — genuinely insane lol. First off, the portion is huge! It looked like almost 3-4 servings to me 👍 And the price is ₩6,900?!

Eating it cold at the end, after all the meat, made for the perfect palate cleanser ❤️ Definitely order this one! Meat followed by cold noodles made for a perfect finish haha
