Gwangalli sashimi spot, 3rd visit with baby crab tempura: Gwanganda
In short
Gwanganda Jjji Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of Sanbada Hoe Town in Gwangalli, Busan, serving a 55,000-won-per-person dachi set (a multi-course seafood spread) with ocean views of Gwangan Bridge. On a third visit to Gwanganda Jjji, the 2-person set brought starters, a sashimi platter of olive flounder, red seabream, righteye flounder and sea bass, spicy blue crab stew, shrimp and baby crab tempura, and abalone porridge, with freshness and flavor noticeably better than on earlier visits. For a generous seafood course in Gwangalli, the Gwanganda Jjji dachi set is a satisfying choice.

Gwangalli has plenty of sashimi restaurants, but the one I've now visited three times is Gwanganda Jjji. You can enjoy a generous seafood course with Gwangandaegyo Bridge right in front of you. It was satisfying every time, but this visit the freshness and flavor felt a notch better, which really impressed me.
Gwanganda Jjji's Gwangan Bridge view and parking

Gwanganda Jjji is on the 6th floor of Sanbada Hoe Town, and the big draw is the ocean view, with Gwangandaegyo Bridge filling the floor-to-ceiling windows. You can park for free in the building's 1st-floor parking lot.
- 1st-floor parking lot of the building: free parking
- Subyeon Park Public Parking Lot and Subyeon Children's Park lot: 1 ticket per table, up to 2 hours
- Other public, private and street parking: separate payment required
With the open sea view and private rooms, it seemed great for dates, parents' birthdays and all kinds of gatherings, and the staff were friendly, so we felt good the whole meal.
What does the Gwanganda Jjji dachi set cost?

The menu is a single dachi set (dachi hansang, a full spread of sashimi and side dishes), and we ordered the 2-person set at ₩55,000 per person. From 4th grade of elementary school, each person orders one set; 3rd graders and under can swap for a side dish.

Looking toward the kitchen, I saw seven staff members each cooking their own dishes on the spot. Watching them somehow raised my expectations for the food.
Which starters come with the dachi set?

The starters (skidashi) came out nonstop: salad, spicy raw fish salad, sprout ginseng, California roll, abalone sashimi, raw shrimp, sea squirt, horn snail, cheese-baked scallops, cream shrimp, live octopus, grilled eel, kimchi pancake, steamed fish and more. After a short wait, this wide range of small dishes began arriving one after another.
The lineup is so solid that it would satisfy seafood lovers, and also people who can't eat raw fish, or kids. The quality of each dish is considerable and the price is so reasonable that, honestly, I was a bit surprised.
The four-fish sashimi platter and how it tasted

The sashimi platter has flatfish, red seabream, righteye flounder and sea bass, with several thick slices of each.

The more I chewed, the nuttier and chewier it got, and the portion was generous enough that the sashimi alone would have been satisfying.

Sushi rice came out too, so I topped it with the sashimi. It was sweet and tangy, with the vinegar seasoning just right.
Wrapping it in a leaf with aged kimchi was a treat too. There was so much to eat that my chopsticks didn't rest for 2 hours.
Spicy crab stew, baby crab tempura and abalone porridge

In the crab spicy stew, the soft, meaty crab melted in my mouth like a marshmallow, and the broth was refreshing. The tempura, shrimp and baby crabs fried in clean oil, was crisp with no oily smell.
To finish, abalone porridge, kimchi and yakgwa (traditional honey cookie) came out. The porridge had plenty of abalone innards, so it was rich and nutty. Topped with kimchi, it was really delicious.
Is Gwanganda Jjji worth it for sashimi in Gwangalli?

It was my third visit, so the table setting felt familiar, but the freshness and flavor at Gwanganda Jjji were a step higher. For a Gwangalli date, family dinner, parents' birthday or group gathering, I recommend dropping by once if you want a generous seafood course.
The starters alone are filling, so to finish all the sashimi too, you may need to mobilize the hidden square footage of your stomach. 😄
