Mangwon-dong café for latte and matcha cheesecake: PICT Roastery

I visited PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch, a new café in Mangwon-dong, to enjoy delicious coffee and a nice time. Following its Magoknaru location, PICT Roastery has opened its second branch in Mangwon-dong, and it sells specialty coffee roasted in-house.

Walking along the alley from Exit 2 of Mangwon Station, I found PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch on the first floor of a red-brick building. It is also close to Mangwon Market, so it is nice for a look around before or after your café visit.

A cozy interior that is comfortable for solo visitors too

Inside PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch, known for good coffee in Mangwon-dong, the bright, cozy space had wooden tables and chairs. The window-side seats are at a bar table, so you can comfortably spend time over delicious coffee even on your own.

I visited around 3:30 p.m. on a weekend, and PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch was so popular that the interior was full. There was a coffee bar along the right-hand wall, plus two two-person tables beside the entrance. In total, there were eight two-person tables and eight bar seats.

There is one shared restroom inside the café. It was busy at the time, so I could not check every seat, but I did not see any outlets. Wi-Fi is available.

With its many visitors and cozy atmosphere, PICT Roastery in Mangwon-dong felt like a lovely place to come for delicious coffee and conversation.

Menu and takeout discount

Here is the menu and pricing at the new PICT Roastery café in Mangwon. All menu items are ₩1,000 off for takeout, and coffee and drinks ranged from the ₩4,000s to ₩7,000s, including an Americano at ₩4,900 and a café latte at ₩5,500.

PICT Roastery currently has a 40% discount coupon on Naver Place that can be used for takeout, so anyone wanting to try it to go may like to use the coupon for a more affordable visit.

The coffee, drinks, and desserts had a relatively simple selection, but I heard this is a café focused on making its single best cup. That was impressive.

For an extra ₩1,000, you can switch to decaf beans. There are three desserts: 24-hour-aged French toast, Kyoto matcha Basque cheesecake, and pistachio tiramisu. A Toss POS kiosk is available for ordering, and you can smell the coffee beans too.

Iced café lattes and matcha cheesecake

The two of us ordered two iced café lattes and a Kyoto matcha Basque cheesecake that day. They were ₩5,500 each for the lattes and ₩7,500 for the cheesecake.

The coffee at PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch had such a delicious nutty flavor. I heard it closes every Monday and Tuesday to roast coffee beans and check their quality. They put that much care into the beans, which is why you can enjoy such good coffee here.

The nutty, delicious coffee was, as expected, an excellent match for the sweet and soft matcha Basque cheesecake. It would also be nice to enjoy brunch with the smooth toast aged for 24 hours.

So I was able to spend a lovely time in this cozy space with delicious coffee and dessert. PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a Mangwon café I would like to revisit for more delicious in-house-roasted coffee and another good time near Mangwon Station.
