I found Petrico, a Hapjeong café, while looking for somewhere to slip away from the busy streets near Hapjeong and rest in peace.

The moment I opened the door, the bustle outside was completely shut out. The calming wood-toned interior and 🎶 gentle music welcomed me in... honestly, the second I stepped inside, I thought, “Ah, I picked a great café today.”

The layout here is just perfect for spending time by yourself, too.

From two-person tables to broad wooden tables, the seats are wonderfully well spaced, so it is ideal for working or reading alone without feeling self-conscious about the people around you.

Even just looking at the soft sunlight coming through the windows and the little vases on every table made me happy~ (Taking a moment to soak up the mood.) Even the walk to the restroom had me feeling all sentimental~ I was not on my way to an art museum~ I was just going to the restroom, you know^^

I also loved that you can choose your own coffee beans here. I usually adore bright coffees with fruity aromas, so without hesitation I chose the bright, fruity beans for my iced Americano.

A clean, radiant fruit aroma spread clearly across my palate and felt wonderfully refreshing. If you love bright, fruity coffee, this is absolutely 👌 absolutely 👍 a flavor you will enjoy. And then, finally, the star arrived: the chocolate banana soufflé!

Oh my~ There I was, grinning from ear to ear🙋♀️ I could not help being amazed the moment I saw the soufflé on the tray~

Ahh~~ It was beautifully blanketed in chocolate—already a perfect score just from the visuals💯 I cut into it generously with a fork rather than a knife... it slid right in without any pressure. So soft, bouncy, and... honestly, I was losing it. (Me, falling in love💕)

Seriously, there was barely anything to chew—it simply melted in my mouth. It was legendary-level fluffy, like someone had baked air onto a plate. (You could eat it with gums alone, haha.)

The chocolate cream on top looks like it would be sweet, right?! NoNoNo👋 It was rich with a slight bittersweet edge, which made it feel refined, and eaten with the banana on the side, the combination was unbelievable.

Here is the most important dream-pairing tip! Take a bite of the sweet soufflé pancake, then immediately take a big sip of the bright iced Americano. (Actually, I just scooped it all up like crazy, haha.)

After the chocolate sweetness, the coffee’s bright acidity completely reset my palate, so I felt like I could eat two plates~ hahaha. One bite of sweet soufflé pancake followed by a sip of brightly acidic iced Americano leaves such a lovely lingering finish.
