Dakgalbi set in Pyeongtaek: Semo Dakgalbi at Urban Grove Mall
In short
Semo Dakgalbi Pyeongtaek Godeok Urban Grove Mall Branch is a dakgalbi restaurant in Godeok, Pyeongtaek. I had a set with two servings of dakgalbi, potato pancake, and bibim makguksu, and the ready-to-eat dakgalbi and unexpectedly favorite potato pancake really stood out. Verdict: a good pick when you want a generous dakgalbi meal with sides.

Finding Semo Dakgalbi at Godeok Urban Grove Mall
It’s located at Godeok Urban Grove Mall, but the parking lot is so huge that finding the restaurant can be a little confusing on your first visit. So let me tell you how I found it!

Enter the B1 parking lot, turn right twice → take Elevator No. 6 to the second floor → head toward the side opposite Ashley, and you’ll find Semo Dakgalbi! If it’s your first time like mine, remembering Elevator No. 6 will make it much easier to find :)

A packed restaurant and easy ordering, even on a weekday evening
I visited on a weekday evening and was surprised that it was already packed! There were terrace seats as well as indoor ones, and the atmosphere outside looked so nice at night. I didn’t realize they were there, so I came home without taking photos ㅠㅠ Next time, I definitely want to sit on the terrace!

You can easily order from the tablet at your table. Along with individual dishes, there are set menus and a nice range of sides, including makguksu and shredded-potato pancake.

You can also choose the spice level for the dakgalbi, so even people who aren’t great with spicy food should be able to order to their taste :)

What came in the dakgalbi, potato pancake, and bibim makguksu set
After some deliberation, I ordered the Semo Dakgalbi Set + bibim makguksu! It came with two servings of dakgalbi, potato pancake, and bibim makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles mixed with spicy sauce). I was so glad I ordered the set because I could try several dishes at once, haha.

After you order, the basic side dishes arrive, and they were honestly much more generous than I expected~! There was young-radish kimchi, stir-fried zucchini and mushrooms, steamed egg, pickled onions, salad, cucumber pickles, cabbage, and all sorts of sides that go well with dakgalbi.
There’s also a self-service bar, so you can comfortably grab more of any side dishes you run out of!
Personally, the steamed egg was so good among the basic sides, haha. It was fluffy and incredibly soft, with a slightly pudding-like texture that kept me reaching for more! A bite of it between the spicy dakgalbi was just perfect :)!

Semo Dakgalbi that was ready to eat right away
And then, finally, the main dish arrived! This is Semo Dakgalbi’s dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken). :) What I liked most was that it came fully cooked! There was no need to wait around at the table and stir-fry it ourselves; we could eat it as soon as it arrived, which was so convenient. The portion was much more generous than I expected too!!!

It was loaded not only with chicken but also sweet potato, bunmoja (thick chewy starch noodles), rice cakes, and all kinds of vegetables! I especially loved the bunmoja ㅠㅠ It had soaked up the sauce beautifully and was so chewy; eating it with the dakgalbi was completely my kind of thing.

The chicken was tender with no unpleasant smell, and the spice level was just right for me, haha. The sauce wasn’t just aggressively hot—it had that spicy flavor that keeps you coming back for more!

I could see why so many people come to Godeok for dakgalbi :) Wrapping the dakgalbi in lettuce was such a perfect match...! Eating it with vegetables gave it a whole different feel, so I kept making wraps ㅠㅠ

Bibim makguksu that paired beautifully with dakgalbi
And if you order dakgalbi, try the bibim makguksu too!!! I was surprised by how much there was when it first arrived, but it was such a good combination with the dakgalbi.
The noodles were cooked just right, and their spicy, tangy flavor made them great to eat in between bites of dakgalbi. Personally, I’d recommend having the makguksu rather than eating dakgalbi on its own :)

The potato pancake was my unexpected top pick
And my unexpected top pick that day was the potato pancake! It comes with the set menu, and it was seriously the star... haha.

The outside was nicely cooked, while the inside still had that distinctive potato texture—I liked it enough to want to go back just for the potato pancake!!! It was delicious on its own and also paired well with the dakgalbi, so the set was a really good combination.
After eating the dakgalbi, bibim makguksu, and potato pancake, the portions were so generous that I ultimately couldn’t manage fried rice ㅠㅠ A dakgalbi meal is only complete once you finish with fried rice...! Next time, I’m going to pace myself and make sure I try the fried rice too, haha.
Overall, the portions were generous, the chicken was tender, and even the side dishes were delicious, so I left Semo Dakgalbi very satisfied! Since it’s inside Urban Grove Mall, parking was convenient and it was also nice to look around after the meal. If you’re looking for a place for a family meal or date in Pyeongtaek Godeok, I think it’s worth a visit :) Next time I’ll return and make sure to eat the fried rice I missed this time!
