In short
Migsikga's Grill & Shabu Daeyeon branch is a Korean BBQ and shabu-shabu restaurant on Suyeong-ro in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan. Two people ordered the pork couple set (pork neck, pork jowl and pork rib meat with kimchi jjim) and added a shabu ring, kaljebi noodles and green tea cold noodles, for 59,900 won in total; the thick cuts of pork and the stylish interior stood out. What is Migsikga's Grill & Shabu Daeyeon branch like?
Migsikga's Grill & Shabu Daeyeon branch (미식가의 구이&샤브) is a Korean BBQ and shabu-shabu restaurant at 227 Suyeong-ro, Nam-gu, Busan, on the 2nd floor. I was looking for a place with a nice atmosphere in Daeyeon-dong and found this one, which is apparently a famous hot spot on social media, so I went in with high expectations.

It's close to Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station, so it's pretty easy to reach by public transport.

Where do you park at Migsikga's in Daeyeon?
Use the 'Modeun Jucha-jang' (All Parking) lot right behind the building, which gives you 1 hour free. I drove, and parking wasn't much of a worry.
The lot's name, 'All Parking', confused me at first, but once you go around to the back of the building you find it right away. One free hour means you can bring the car without stress, which was nice.
Is the atmosphere good for a date?
The restaurant is split across the 1st and 2nd floors, and for the grill and shabu you head up to the 2nd floor. The interior has so much atmosphere that it's fun to look at and good enough for a date spot, and it really caught my eye.

Soft lighting fills the space, so the mood works both in the daytime and at night.

You can have shabu-shabu only, or enjoy meat and shabu together. Looking at the menu, that pretty innovative lineup really came across.

Side dishes
After you order and wait, basic side dishes like pajeori (seasoned scallion salad) and sweet pumpkin are set out first. The neat side dish lineup goes well with both the grilled meat and the shabu.

The tidy side dishes got my appetite going before the meat even arrived. Each one tasted like home cooking, so I could relax and enjoy them.

Pork couple set (₩29,900): what you get and how it tastes
The pork couple set at Migsikga's costs ₩29,900 and comes with pork neck, pork jowl and pork ribs, plus kimchi jjim (braised kimchi). The set I ordered as my main arrived, and it was overwhelming from the looks alone.

First, put the pork neck on the grill. The meat was thick and fresh, and my mouth watered the whole time it cooked. It looked really well marbled, too.
Sprinkle salt over the meat.
Flip it often as it grills. The thick-cut pork turned crispy outside and juicy inside, and every bite burst with juices.

Kimchi jjim that comes with the set
The kimchi jjim comes along when you order the pork couple set. It was seasoned just right and so delicious.

Next, grill the pork jowl. I was already excited before I even picked up a piece.

True to its name, the couple set is the perfect amount for two people. If two of you are visiting, I'd definitely recommend the pork couple set.

I wrapped a piece of pork with kimchi jjim and garlic in one bite, and my whole mouth filled with happiness.

What is the shabu ring add-on (₩15,000)?
At Migsikga's, you add just ₩15,000 to the pork couple set to get the shabu ring. Out came a whole new dish: a broth packed with mushrooms, shabu-shabu beef and bean sprouts.

The shabu ring looked really appetizing.

Dunk a piece of meat into the bubbling broth and pull it out. Dip the meat, mushrooms and bean sprouts in the sauce and it's pure magic in one bite.

Kaljebi noodles add-on (₩2,000)
I added kaljebi (knife-cut noodles with sujebi dough flakes) for ₩2,000 to put into the shabu ring broth.

Boiled in the broth, they were so good. The noodles were really chewy and felt like the perfect way to finish.

Green tea cold noodles (₩5,000) to finish
After a big meat feast at Migsikga's, I ordered green tea cold noodles (mul naengmyeon, noodles in chilled broth) for ₩5,000 to finish. The green tea noodles had a faint green tint, so they were special just to look at.
They were perfect for cutting the greasiness after all that meat, and the noodles were chewy, so every last bite was good.

Cost for two and final thoughts
- Pork couple set ₩29,900
- Shabu ring ₩15,000
- Kaljebi ₩2,000
- Green tea cold noodles ₩5,000
- Horoyoi ₩6,000
- Soft drink ₩2,000
- Total ₩59,900 (2 people)
If you're looking for a restaurant with atmosphere in Daeyeon-dong, Migsikga's Grill & Shabu Daeyeon branch is the answer. It proves the saying that food that looks good tastes good too: the meat quality and the green tea cold noodles to finish, nothing fell short. It's great for dates and just as fitting for a special occasion, and I think I'll go back.
