Yukmildo Dongnae Direct Branch (육밀도 동래직영점) is an aged-meat Korean BBQ restaurant on Chungnyeol-daero in Dongnae, Busan. At dinner, two people had aged pork belly and aged pork neck grilled at the table by staff, along with grilled potato, white kimchi and mushrooms, then finished with yeolmu dongchimi guksu (young radish water-kimchi noodles), for ₩80,500 in total. Yukmildo Dongnae Direct Branch is a very satisfying choice when you want aged pork belly and neck that taste great without any marinade, with no grilling effort.

Hanwoo BBQ for two in Jinhae, Changwon: 500g ribeye at Geum Songaji

Geum Songaji (금송아지) is a new hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant on Chungjang-ro in Jinhae-gu, Changwon, open only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Two friends ordered 500g of hanwoo ribeye for 75,000 won and grilled it themselves over charcoal, with buffet-style side dishes and unlimited doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and hanwoo gomtang (beef bone soup). Geum Songaji is a good place in Jinhae for two people to enjoy hanwoo without straining the budget.

Gimhae sushi restaurant for a solo freshwater eel rice bowl: Sushi Hwa

Sushi Hwa (스시화) is a sushi restaurant near Bongridan-gil in Bonghwang-dong, Gimhae, known for flame-seared sushi. After a day of plans in Gimhae, the writer ate alone and ordered the eel rice bowl set (18,000 won) and 5 pieces of salmon aburi plus 1 inari sushi (fried tofu pouch sushi) (8,000 won). The thick freshwater eel paired well with cold soba, and the salmon aburi had a smoky, flame-seared flavor. Compared with eel rice bowls in Japan that cost over 30,000 won, the Sushi Hwa eel rice bowl set is good value.

Daegu Korean restaurant for spicy beef gukbap to go: Taegyeongok

Taegyeongok is a white-toned Korean restaurant on Gukchaebosang-ro in Dongin-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu. To eat hagfish properly in Busan, the Gyeongbuksan Kkomjangeo half-and-half set followed by fried rice is the answer.
