Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a Vietnamese restaurant on Jeongjail-ro in Jeongja-dong, Bundang, Seongnam, where orange-and-blue decor gives it the feel of an old-school Vietnamese eatery. While weighing a summer-vacation trip to Vietnam, the writer came to Kkamon for dinner, ordered Kkamon pho (brisket), charcoal-grilled bún chả and a size S bánh xèo (crispy Vietnamese pancake), and was most pleased by the rich broth and the smoky bún chả. After a Deoksugung Palace night guided tour, the writer and her child stopped by Mentsuru City Hall Branch for a late dinner of tori paitan, stone-pot tsukemen and a mini rice bowl, with most ramen priced at just over 10,000 won; the tori paitan wasn't salty, so the child finished the broth too. In an office district where dinner options are scarce, Mentsuru City Hall Branch is an easy ramen choice for families with kids or solo diners.
