Sejong restaurant for a weekend dinner with a baby: Le Garden Bleu

In short

Le Garden Bleu (르 가든 블루) is a Western restaurant on the ground floor of KT&G Sejong Tower A in Eojin-dong, Sejong. On a weekend evening with a baby, the blogger had rigatoni bolognese, flat iron steak with truffle potato cream gnocchi and a natural sourdough brioche, and found the high chairs, kids' tableware and the building's nursing room, cafés and Kyobo Book Centre all convenient. Le Garden Bleu is a good Sejong pick for both a date night and a family meal with a baby, all under one roof.

Today I'm introducing Le Garden Bleu (르가든블루), a Sejong restaurant well known for its atmosphere. The mood and the food work for dates and for family meals alike, so couples and families both come here a lot. This time I tried a good range: rigatoni bolognese, flat iron steak, and a natural sourdough brioche.

Where is Le Garden Bleu in Sejong?

Le Garden Bleu is on the ground floor of KT&G Sejong Tower A in Eojin-dong, Sejong. There's a Nike store right next to it. Just a heads-up: it's a different building from Terarosa.

The moment you walk in, the mood lifts. The open kitchen is fun to watch, too.

Soft lighting, clean interior and natural light made the space really pretty, and the tables are spaced fairly far apart, so it was comfortable to eat.

Should you reserve for a weekend evening?

We arrived right after the break time ended on a weekend evening and it was already really crowded, so I recommend booking through Naver first. The furniture is wood-toned and the seating is varied. It's also known as a date spot in Eojin-dong, and there were plenty of couples on blind dates and dates.

Is Le Garden Bleu OK with a baby?

Le Garden Bleu has baby chairs and even cute kids' tableware, so it was a good place to come with a baby. Nice restaurants can often feel intimidating with little ones, but Le Garden Bleu was different. The fountain plaza right outside is great for playing, and the nursing room and restrooms in the building are well kept, so it's a really good outing with a baby.

The tableware was so pretty too.

Table setting items at Le Garden Bleu

Natural sourdough brioche, ordered instead of starter bread

There's no complimentary bread at Le Garden Bleu, but there are bread items on the menu, so I ordered the natural sourdough brioche for the baby. It's lightly crisp outside and moist and soft inside. It's tasty on its own, but with the sauce that came alongside it was really good. It also went very well with the pasta sauce we ordered.

Flat iron steak with truffle potato cream gnocchi

Today's main was the Le Garden Bleu flat iron steak. Medium is the default doneness, so I ordered it as is. It was slightly pink and so good. If you're eating with a baby, I'd recommend asking for it cooked a bit more, but for adults it was just right.

Under the steak comes truffle potato cream gnocchi, where the nutty cream and a faint truffle aroma spread out and pair really well with the steak. The steak is great alone, but with the potato gnocchi it felt even richer. Quality that fits the "best Western restaurant in Sejong" reputation, I'd say?

What does the rigatoni bolognese taste like?

The rigatoni bolognese is one I seem to order every time I come to Le Garden Bleu. The slow-simmered beef bolognese sauce has a deep, rich flavor. I first learned about rigatoni here: the sauce soaks into the pasta and it gets tastier the more you chew. Mushrooms and basil pesto add fragrance, and the cheddar cheese lifts the flavor further. It's a slightly spicy pasta, good for adults, and it goes nicely with the other dishes.

All the sauces are made in-house

The biggest feature of Le Garden Bleu is that every sauce is made in-house. With no food additives, the flavor stayed clean and not overpowering all the way through the meal, which impressed me. I also heard a chef with 16 years of experience, trained in Le Cordon Bleu, is in the kitchen every day, which makes it feel even more trustworthy! Haha.

What to do at KT&G Sejong Tower after your meal

A big plus of KT&G Sejong Tower A, where Le Garden Bleu is, is how much there is to enjoy after eating. Right out front is a fountain where kids can splash around in summer, and they really loved it.

There are also cafés in the building, Hollys and Small & Good, so you can go for coffee without moving elsewhere. That was nice too.

There's also a nursing room for babies, with a clean, pleasant space for changing diapers. I really liked that.

On top of that, there's a Kyobo Book Centre and a gacha (capsule toy) shop, handy while waiting for your meal or after. It's great to come with kids, and for couples on a date, a cup of coffee at a café after the meal sounds like a good way to spend the time.

Le Garden Bleu at a glance

  • Baby chairs and kids' tableware make it a good family restaurant

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Sejong, I recommend trying the steak and pasta at Le Garden Bleu. Tasty food, a comfortable atmosphere and plenty of facilities to enjoy after the meal: it was a restaurant that satisfied on every count.
