Anseong cake café: mini cakes for a baby & evening bread, Chat Baker
In short
Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large two-floor bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. In hot summer weather a big cake tends to go uneaten and get thrown away, so the writer went to Chat Baker one evening for a small cake and some bread to share with a baby. The Chat Baker cake ranked among the two best cakes the writer has ever eaten, but much of the bread had sold out by evening, so go early for a wider choice.

Why Chat Baker for a small cake to share with the baby
Chat Baker in Gongdo, Anseong has small-size cakes, so I went to buy one for my baby and me. My baby loves bread and cake these days, but when I bring a cake home from a cake shop, we eat maybe one slice and almost all the rest gets thrown away! It's an incredibly hot summer right now, and a cake bought in this weather basically has to be tossed right away, so I thought, for the same money, why not buy a small, tasty cake and feed that instead. That's why I went!

How did the Chat Baker cake taste?
Chat Baker's cake was in my top two of all the cakes I've ever eaten. The café is really close to our home and we often go there on dates, my husband and I, but this was the first time I tried the cake. And it was so good, seriously! The quality is great, the taste is great, and it looks so pretty, so I really recommend trying it!

Cake sizes and packaging
There were several kinds of cake, and even among the small ones there are two sizes, so pick whichever suits you! They put the cake in a clear case, which makes it great as a gift. It's also perfect to take to a party!

Cake slices in many varieties too
Besides whole cakes, Chat Baker also had lots of cake slices in different kinds. I didn't notice while choosing the cake, but don't they look totally delicious? Next time I'll go for a slice. I don't eat cake all that often, but there are times you just really want some, right? It seems perfect for those moments!
Chat Baker opening hours and days off
Chat Baker opens at 9 a.m. and runs until 11 p.m., and it's open every day of the year. You can go anytime, so you can visit without worrying!

Will there be bread left in the evening?
If you go to Chat Baker in the evening, quite a lot of the bread is already sold out. It was my first time going in the evening, and I never imagined the bread would be so picked over! I always go in the morning and enjoy brunch, and back then the shelves were full of so many different kinds of bread. It's a good thing that Chat Baker is this popular, but fewer kinds to choose from was a little disappointing. Still, there was plenty of tasty bread, so I picked out a bunch!

Chat Baker also has cookies, so it seems good for buying snacks too! Maybe word has already spread that it's a top bakery in Anseong, because things sell out really fast. Please visit early and enjoy the wide variety of bread!
Besides bread, are there brunch, bingsu and drinks?
At Chat Baker you can have brunch pasta, bingsu (Korean shaved ice) and more, not just bakery items.

It's so hot in summer that my younger sibling often comes to Chat Baker for bingsu! A few of the bingsu even had sold-out notes stuck on them, haha. Crazy, right? Anyway, the drinks and coffee are good too, so I come here often! The parking lot is huge so you can come without worry, and for drinks, the fresh lemonade and grapefruit ade are totally delicious!

Chat Baker milk loaf as a baby snack
One thing I buy every time I come to Chat Baker is the loaf bread! There are two kinds, and I chose the milk loaf since the baby can eat it. It's so soft that the baby eats it happily even plain, without milk to go with it!

This is the bread I picked that day, and it was a total success! Everything was tasty, and I think bread lovers will really like it! I don't usually enjoy bread that much, but when I eat bread this good I start wondering if I actually like bread after all! I won't eat it if it's hard or bland, but I don't think Chat Baker's bread has ever failed me!

What are the 1st- and 2nd-floor seats at Chat Baker like?
1st floor: window seats with a rain-like effect
Chat Baker has two floors. The 1st floor has an interior where water pours down like rain, with seats where you can sit facing the window, and you can also sit in angular chairs and enjoy the mood! My baby took a seat too, haha. Seems like the rainy feeling is a hit.

2nd floor: bread-warming area and floor-seating tables
The 2nd floor has an area where you can warm up your bread, plus floor-seating tables where you sit on the floor! The floor seats are always full, so I couldn't sit there this time either :) If you go early in the morning, you can easily grab the seat you want and enjoy bakery items, drinks and coffee.

Things to watch out for with kids
Chat Baker is a large café in the Anseong area, and the spacious layout and stylish interior feel refreshing to the eyes! However, the middle of the building is open all the way through, so if you go with a child, you need to keep a close eye on them.

If you've been wanting to visit an LP café, or you want tasty bread, drinks and pasta, I hope you'll try Chat Baker in Gongdo, Anseong! It's close to Starfield Anseong and Anseong Farmland, which is probably why it gets so many customers!
