Hannuri-daero, Sejong pork bone soup takeout with siraegi: Chungsilok
In short
Chungsilok Ppyeohaejangguk Cheotmaeul Main Branch (충실옥 첫마을본점) is a pork bone soup (ppyeohaejangguk) and gamjatang (pork bone stew) restaurant on the ground floor of Sejin Innuville on Hannuri-daero, Sejong. The writer took home 3 servings of pork bone soup with extra siraegi (dried radish greens); the broth and solids came packed separately so nothing leaked, and the big bones and generous siraegi made plenty for a family. With free underground parking and a self-serve side dish corner, Chungsilok Cheotmaeul Main Branch is a satisfying choice for both dining in and takeout.

When I want a hearty meal in Sejong, Chungsilok (충실옥) Ppyeohaejangguk is one of the first places that comes to mind. This time I didn't eat at the restaurant. I got takeout and enjoyed it at home at my leisure, and the generous portion and rich broth made me really happy. I added extra siraegi (dried radish greens), so it was even more filling, and I'd recommend it for a family meal or a solo lunch. So, shall we go enjoy a good meal together?
How is parking at Chungsilok Cheotmaeul Main Branch?
Chungsilok is in the Sejin Innuville building on Hannuri-daero in Sejong, and you can park for free in the underground lot below the restaurant. It's an easy place to reach by car. The parking space is fairly ample, so visiting at lunch or dinner time felt no trouble.
Chungsilok exterior and interior atmosphere

The exterior of Chungsilok, a well-known gamjatang (pork bone stew) spot in Sejong, has a clean, eye-catching sign, so even first-time visitors can find it easily.

It has the reliable feel of a haejangguk (hangover soup) specialist that takes care of a hearty meal, and I was impressed by how tidy it looked right from the entrance. Step inside and a wide, pleasant space opens up.

The tables are spaced out, so it's comfortable to eat, and it suits a family outing or an office lunch. It was kept clean overall, which made me even happier.

What side dishes are in the Chungsilok self-serve corner?

One side of the restaurant has a self-serve corner where you can help yourself to side dishes like kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and kimchi. Being able to grab whatever you need without running short is another plus.

The kkakdugi and kimchi both go well with the soup, so I think many people will be happy with them.

Chungsilok menu

Besides the signature pork bone soup, Chungsilok has gamjatang and a variety of meal dishes, so you can choose to your taste. I liked that it's easy to order whether you come alone or with a group.

What does 3-serving pork bone soup takeout with extra siraegi look like?
I ordered 3 servings of pork bone soup to go and added extra siraegi. The packing was careful, so I could carry it home safely without worrying about leaks or spills, and the broth and solids came in separate containers, which made it even better to enjoy at home.

I got home in a flash.

It's already cooked, so you can eat right away. The rich bone-broth aroma and spicy smell filled the whole house and really got my appetite going.

This is the extra siraegi I added.

2 tubs of sauce

How were the taste and portion of Chungsilok pork bone soup?
The portion was so big that I moved it into bowls. The first thing that caught my eye was the big bones. They had plenty of meat, and it was tender enough to pull off easily with chopsticks. The texture, as if simmered for a long time, makes it easy for everyone from kids to adults to enjoy.

What changes when you add extra siraegi?
There was really a lot of siraegi, and eating it with the broth brought out an even more savory, earthy flavor. The soft texture and deep taste of the siraegi blended well with the rich broth and made it an even more satisfying meal.

Chungsilok broth flavor
The broth of Chungsilok's pork bone soup is rich yet clean. It isn't too harsh, but the spicy kick is still there, and it has a charm that makes you finish a bowl of rice in no time. With the deep savoriness from the bones and the earthiness of the siraegi, I enjoyed it down to the last spoonful.

Is Chungsilok pork bone soup still good as takeout?
I worried that takeout might lose some flavor, but being able to heat it at home as much as I liked made it even more enjoyable. The portion was generous enough for the whole family, and eaten hot, it felt just as satisfying as at the restaurant.

If you need a hearty meal or want to enjoy good haejangguk comfortably at home, try Chungsilok Ppyeohaejangguk in Sejong. The generous portion, rich broth, tender bone meat and the extra siraegi made it an even fuller meal. Parking is easy, the restaurant is tidy and the self-serve corner is well stocked, so it was a satisfying place for both dining in and takeout. I'd like to come back whenever I crave a filling meal. If you're looking for good pork bone soup in Sejong, I recommend paying a visit.
