Japanese restaurant in Jung, Seoul: gyukatsu and steki at Furato
In short
Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store is a Japanese restaurant on the B1 level of Seoul Square in front of Seoul Station. I ate alone, ordering gyukatsu, Ramune soda, and extra steki. The gyukatsu was crisp outside and moist inside, but I personally preferred the softer steki.

Where can I find it near Seoul Station?
I visited Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store (후라토식당 서울스퀘어 직영점) because I was curious about gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet). It is on the B1 level of Seoul Square in front of Seoul Station, so it was easy to find.

The restaurant came into view as soon as I got off the escalator. Perhaps because the area has many offices, there were many customers who appeared to be office workers.

How did I wait and order?
At the time of my visit, I could register for the waitlist through Catchtable. There was also a menu board in front of the restaurant, which made it easy to look over the menu before going in.

I arrived a little before 6 p.m., and there were already many customers. The staff kindly explained the seating and ordering process, and they responded well to requests.

I ordered by scanning the QR code at the table. I also saw a staff member bring a physical menu to an older customer. At the time of my visit, there was an event offering mini karaage (Japanese fried chicken) or a drink for writing a review.
What did I eat on my solo visit?
There were several menu items I wanted to try, but since I was visiting alone, I first ordered gyukatsu and Ramune soda.

The gyukatsu arrived neatly arranged. There was a small brazier on the table, so I could cook it myself.

I chose Ramune soda as a fizzy drink to have with the fried food. I remembered enjoying it at a hot spring in Fukuoka before, so I ordered it again.

How was the texture of gyukatsu cooked on the brazier?
Melting butter and grilling the gyukatsu added more flavor. At first, I grilled one piece at a time, but later I put two or three pieces on at once because I wanted to eat more quickly.

I found it softer when I did not cook it for too long. When the brazier flame became weak, a staff member added more solid fuel, which made it easy to keep grilling.

I tried it in several ways, with wasabi, sauce, and salt. I liked the contrast between its crisp exterior and moist interior.
How did the extra steki compare with the gyukatsu?
After finishing the gyukatsu set, I wanted a little more, so I added steki (steak).

The gyukatsu was good too, but I personally liked the steki more. I liked the contrast of the gyukatsu's crisp exterior and moist interior, while the steki's soft texture stood out in particular.

I finished the meal by grilling three pieces of meat at a time. It was a meal where I could compare brazier-grilled gyukatsu and the extra steki in one sitting.
