Yeonsinnae tonkatsu dinner: wasabi tenderloin katsu, Katsu Monster
In short
Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is a tonkatsu restaurant on Yeonseo-ro 28-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, with a steady flow of solo diners and delivery orders. Two of us visited at 7pm and ordered the 32,000 won set for two, choosing hire katsu (tenderloin cutlet) and cold soba; the coating was crisp and the meat inside tender, so it never felt heavy. Verdict: Katsu Monster's portions are generous, so light eaters will find one katsu plus one noodle dish is the right amount.

An interior that's great for solo dining

Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is great for a group, but it's honestly at its best for solo dining. If you're looking for a Yeonsinnae lunch spot to grab a simple meal by yourself, this could be perfect!

We came in the evening, and the whole time we were eating, customers kept walking in and delivery orders kept coming in nonstop. Definitely a Yeonsinnae tonkatsu restaurant worth the hype 👍👍👍
Menu and prices — Set for two ₩32,000

Katsu Monster's menu, which is known for its delicious tonkatsu, ranges from cutlets to noodles and rice bowls. Of the katsu, I'd most recommend the tenderloin katsu and cheese katsu. For noodles, both the cold soba and cold udon are excellent!
Since there were two of us today, we ordered the set for two, which is perfect for sharing. It comes with two katsu and one noodle dish, and at ₩32,000, it's a reasonable price. We picked the hire katsu (tenderloin cutlet) and cold soba.
Honest review

As always, Katsu Monster never disappoints — it's a Yeonsinnae restaurant I never hesitate to visit whenever I want tonkatsu! Aengdu loves it too.

Katsu Monster — Tenderloin katsu
I don't love it when tonkatsu meat is dry, so I tend to prefer tenderloin katsu. Katsu Monster's tenderloin katsu was exactly the crispy-outside, juicy-inside style I like. You can keep eating without ever getting tired of it!

The breading on the outside is crispy while the meat inside stays tender, so it never gets old no matter how much you eat. Tonkatsu might seem simple, but if the breading is too thick or the meat too dry, it gets tiresome fast — here the meat and breading are so well balanced that I'm always satisfied at this Yeonsinnae favorite.

If it's your first time at Katsu Monster, a great Yeonsinnae lunch spot, I'd suggest starting with the tenderloin katsu. The tenderloin katsu and cheese katsu are the best here, haha.

How to eat it with sauce for the best flavor
The sauce is delicious on its own, of course, but personally I especially recommend the salt + wasabi or wasabi + sauce combos. Wasabi + sauce is surprisingly good. It's an addictive flavor, lol.

Katsu Monster — Cold soba
Eating tonkatsu alone can get a bit much halfway through, but pairing it with cool, refreshing cold soba made the combination just right. One bite of tenderloin katsu, one bite of cold soba, and it's instant bliss. Cold soba really is the best on a hot day.
If you're looking for a Yeonsinnae lunch spot in summer, I'd recommend the tonkatsu + cold soba combo. The portions are quite generous, so light eaters might want to order one katsu and one noodle dish. We eat a lot, so we ordered two katsu and one noodle dish.

We ordered the tenderloin katsu and cold soba and split it between the two of us, and even so, we were nearly bursting by the end. From the moment the food arrived, I thought the portions looked bigger than expected, and sure enough, they really were. I already come here often, but as a Yeonsinnae tonkatsu restaurant that's perfect for solo dining, I'll definitely keep coming back, haha.
