1990s-style pub by Sadang Station: mozzarella tomato risotto at Ui
In short
Ui Sadang Branch (우이 사당점) is a 1990s-themed pub and pasta restaurant tucked inside the food alley near Sadang Station in Seoul. Sitting at the bar with a friend who doesn't drink, the writer paired cola with mozzarella tomato risotto (24,000 won) and mushroom cream pasta (23,000 won), and enjoyed small retro touches like barley tea, Kkoedori snacks and a picture-book-style menu. Even without alcohol, Ui Sadang Branch works well for a date, a blind date or a night out with friends.

This time I'm introducing Ui Sadang Branch (우이 사당점), a Sadang Station date bar with a great mood and really delicious food, perfect for unwinding after work. It's good for eating or drinking solo, and it's already got a buzz as a Sadang Station blind-date spot and pasta place. As a date course with your partner, it's seriously perfect!
Where is Ui Sadang Branch, and what are the hours?
Ui Sadang Branch is at 1F, 41 Dongjak-daero 3-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, open 18:00 to 02:00, and reservations are possible. Get off at Sadang Station, where subway Lines 2 and 4 meet, and walk a little way into the eating alley, and you'll find this moody spot without trouble.
There are bus stops nearby too, so it's really easy to reach by public transport. It's popular, so I strongly recommend a Naver reservation if you want things to go smoothly! It seats up to 7 people, so it suits small gatherings, blind dates and dates near Sadang Station.
Ui Sadang Branch exterior
Walking through the Sadang Station eating alley, you come to the exterior of Ui Sadang Branch, which feels stylish yet warm and antique.

The vibe is so good from outside that, even before going in, I understood why Ui Sadang Branch is famous as a Sadang Station blind-date spot.

The soft lighting is pretty, making it a pasta place where couples can have a cozy Sadang Station date and make good memories.
Inside Ui Sadang Branch: bar seats and 1990s props

When I opened the door of Ui Sadang Branch, the first thing I noticed was the lovely bar seating! You can watch the cooking and there's lots to look at, so it's a charming Sadang Station pub that's also great for drinking solo after work.

All around the place were nostalgic items styled after the 1990s.

Once you sit down, cold barley tea brewed in-house comes in an old-fashioned Delmonte glass bottle, along with Kkoedoli snacks (nostalgic Korean snack) as a bar snack. It gives Ui Sadang Branch its own sentimental feel as a date spot.

I especially loved seeing a cute "Seoul Ui Elementary School Soccer Team" jersey hanging on the wall. It seems to be related to the name "Ui Sadang Branch", which felt friendly and fun.

What's the restroom at Ui Sadang Branch like?
The restroom is inside the restaurant and kept very clean. What I found really thoughtful was that it even had nice-smelling hand wash and mouthwash.

It's a pasta place you can use thoughtfully even on an important Sadang Station blind date!
Ui Sadang Branch menu, drinks and corkage

The menu is styled like a cute children's storybook cover, which was charming. At first I wasn't sure whether it was really the menu. Hahahahahaha. My friend and I found it so fun and fascinating!

The dishes are fusion bar food built on Western cooking techniques, referencing home cooking (gajeong-sik) from various countries. It's a lineup that's really good for company dinners too.

Ui Sadang Branch isn't just a pasta place; the drink lineup has real pub presence too. Soju, beer and highballs, plus whisky and wine, so there's plenty to choose from at this Sadang Station bar. Corkage is also allowed, ₩30,000 per bottle whether it's wine, whisky or anything else, so keep that in mind!
After some deliberation, we ordered the mozzarella cheese tomato risotto (₩24,000) and the mushroom cream pasta (₩23,000).

My friend and I don't like alcohol, so we ordered a glass of cola too!
How does the mozzarella cheese tomato risotto taste?

The mozzarella cheese tomato risotto (₩24,000) had big chunks of meat, carrot and other ingredients, with a rich mozzarella tomato sauce flavor. When our food came out, isn't the bowl so pretty? Maybe because we sat at the bar table, the delicious smell drifted over and I was so hungry!

Let's try the mozzarella cheese tomato risotto first. Looking closely, the risotto held big chunks of meat, carrot and other ingredients, topped prettily with arugula and red chili.

Maybe because it's a tomato sauce with mozzarella, the rich flavor clung to my mouth. The sauce and ingredients blend harmoniously at Ui Sadang Branch, a Sadang Station favorite.
Is the mushroom cream pasta a must-order?

The mushroom cream pasta (₩23,000) was appealing from the moment it arrived, with a funky, rich cheese aroma tickling my nose! To get straight to the point: if you go to Ui Sadang Branch, I hope you'll order this without fail.

It was packed with big-cut oyster mushrooms, salty bacon and sweet onion. I scooped up the cream sauce with a spoon, and the flavor of that thick, creamy sauce was fantastic. It proved in one bite why Ui Sadang Branch is a great pasta place.

I think they used linguine, slightly thick with a nice texture. The sauce soaked in well and there was plenty of cream sauce, so I found myself wanting to eat this sauce as a risotto too.

Dunking the crispy garlic bread that came alongside into this cream sauce made me feel like I had the whole world. If you're looking for a good Sadang Station blind-date spot, go to Ui Sadang Branch and definitely order this mushroom cream pasta! It was a day of relaxing with a friend in a cozy Sadang Station pub, losing track of time.
