I visited Robadayakki Sodam, a longtime Yeouido izakaya where waiting is basically a given. It's famous as a Yeouido Station restaurant and bar, so I went in with high expectations — and the side dishes were genuinely amazing. Recommended!

If you're looking for a date spot or a second stop after dinner with coworkers, keep reading to the end! ✨

Robadayakki Sodam Yeouido Branch is about a 10-minute walk from Yeouido Station. It's close enough to be an easy walk from the station, so it's simple to find. Once you arrive, the warm wooden interior catches your eye right away. The exterior gives off that emotional Japanese izakaya vibe, so you won't have trouble spotting it even from a distance. It's a charming space with real Japanese bar atmosphere!

Counter seat or table seat at Robadayakki Sodam?

Step inside and you get that full Japanese izakaya feeling! One of Robadayakki Sodam's biggest draws is the layout that lets you watch the skewers being grilled right in front of you. 🍢 The counter seats let you watch the grilling up close, so both your eyes and ears get to enjoy it. It's fun to watch, so those seats fill up fast — if you want the counter, book ahead.

The table seats are great if you want a cozy, relaxed time. The tables are well separated from each other, and the music plays at just the right volume — enough not to interrupt conversation. Some bars play music so loud you can barely talk, but here you can chat comfortably under the soft lighting while enjoying great food. Add in the J-pop atmosphere playing throughout the space, and the drinks just go down smoothly haha.

It's a great date course, and I'd also strongly recommend it as a second stop for a work dinner.

Robadayakki Sodam has a really wide range of drinks to suit your taste. There are also plenty of sweet, drink-like options for lightweights, so even if you're not much of a drinker, don't worry — go for it.

Sashimi + mixed skewer set: what comes with it

When you first sit down, you get a fried egg as a basic side dish! It's seasoned just salty enough to whet your appetite before the main food arrives. Bonus protein too, so it's great. A tasty fried egg even as the standard side dish~

The best dish: aged sashimi

Top pick, sashimi ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It comes in a pretty generous portion, and above all, the fish is really fresh. Whether it's aged, all of it was chewy and tasted great with no fishy smell at all.

It's a crowd-pleasing, upscale sashimi flavor that pretty much nobody would dislike, so you keep reaching for more without getting tired of it. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bar food~~~ Everyone at the table agreed this sashimi was the number one pick!

Mixed skewers and the house soy sauce

The mixed skewers also come with a really solid variety, filling enough to make a satisfying meal!! It's also a great value option if you're dropping by for a light second round. Especially the house's special soy sauce — that's the real kicker! The deep umami is incredible, so I dipped every single skewer in it.🤍

• Mushroom skewer: packed with juice, more umami the more you chew! 🍄
• Bacon rice cake roll: the perfect sweet-and-salty combo of chewy rice cake and savory bacon! 🥓
• Chicken skin skewer: crispy and nutty, an addictive flavor you can't stop reaching for! 🍗

Personally, these four skewers were the best of the bunch! Definitely give them a try 🩷🩷🩷

Is Robadayakki Sodam Yeouido Branch worth a visit?

If you're looking for a bar with a nice vibe under soft lighting, I recommend Robadayakki Sodam in Yeouido!!! Especially if you want light bar food with great atmosphere, the sashimi set comes highly recommended!
