Today I went to a Korean-style bar in Sadang that's great for drinking in a nice atmosphere! It's close to Sadang Station and has a really varied menu, so it looked perfect for a drink with friends or a group gathering.
And it turns out this place is run by the same owner as Sansu! I'd been to Sansu before and recognized the same staff member here — pretty sharp eye, right? Haha.

Today's spot is Wonang Sadang Main Branch! :)

Inside Wonang Sadang Main Branch: traditional Korean interior

True to a Korean-style bar and restaurant, the interior is set up for enjoying drinks and food together, and it's completely Korean-style!

It looked great for dates as well as for a Sadang Station bar meetup with several people! When I was there, a group was having a work dinner too!
What's on the menu at Wonang Sadang Main Branch

The menu was really varied, ranging from pancakes and pizza to raw fish and sashimi, noodles, hot pot dishes, mains, sides, and desserts!
There were plenty of options, from filling dishes like beef tartare and beef ribs to drinking snacks like pancakes, hot pot, and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)!! One thing to note — the menu registered on Naver was different from what was actually in the store when I visited! If you're planning to go, please refer to the actual menu board photos I took rather than the Naver listing! 🐒

The drink selection is really~~~ extensive too!! I want to try the omija (schisandra berry) makgeolli next time I come!
How ordering works: table QR code and the one-drink rule

You don't order directly with staff — instead you order using the QR code at your table! Scanning it brings up the menu right away, so it was convenient to browse slowly and order at your own pace.
Also, at Wonang ordering alcohol is required! If you don't drink, a non-alcoholic highball is available instead — good to know!!
Welcome drink
Before digging into the food, a glass of Wonang's hallabong (Jeju citrus) liquor from a gourd-shaped bottle comes out as a welcome drink! 🍊🍊🍊 It's nice for a light sip while waiting for the food, and having this small welcome touch put me in a good mood from the start.
What we ordered: corn cheese bomb kimchi pancake and charcoal emperor beef ribs
I ordered two things: the corn cheese bomb kimchi pancake (₩21,900) and the charcoal emperor beef ribs 250g (₩27,000)! To cut to the conclusion, I'd recommend ordering these two together...!
Corn cheese bomb kimchi pancake

The corn cheese bomb kimchi pancake! It's piled with cheese and corn on top of the kimchi pancake. Best of all, the corn kernels are whole, so the popping, crunchy texture was so good!
The spicy kick of the kimchi pancake, the savory cheese, and the sweetness of the corn all come together, and you just keep eating it... The whole corn kernels popping with every bite really made the texture!
And dipping it in the sauce that comes with it is seriously delicious!!
Charcoal emperor beef ribs

And the charcoal emperor beef ribs I ordered alongside it. First of all, the meat is genuinely tender...!
It chews soft with no toughness at all — the kind of dish that makes you go 'oh?' the moment you taste it. Just melts. It's great paired with the crunchy vinegared vegetable side that comes with it, or with a bit of wasabi mashed potato on top for a different flavor.
But honestly, what I want to recommend most is the combo of charcoal emperor beef ribs + corn cheese bomb kimchi pancake! Speaking my honest opinion, I think these two should basically be ordered as a set...
Take a bite of the tender charcoal-grilled ribs, then a bite of the pancake with its popping corn kernels — the combination is genuinely great!
