Yeouido IFC Mall snack set served ready-cooked: Hyeonseonine
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack restaurant in the basement 2 passage of IFC Mall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. To save time before inline skating in Yeouido, the writer took a table where the food arrives already cooked (no induction stove) and ordered the 23,000-won Hyeonseoni Set: tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), sundae (blood sausage), gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and mixed fried snacks, plus a bowl of fish cake broth. The portion is just right for two hungry men and the price is fair, so Hyeonseonine is worth a return visit.

Hello~ everyone haha. On this day, since I'd be burning a lot of calories inline skating in Yeouido, I came to this snack restaurant to (lightly?) fuel up first 😃
Where is Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, and when is it open?
- 📍 Address: 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, IFC Mall B2, Hyeonseonine Premium, South Korea
- ⏰ Hours: Open year-round, 16:00–24:00
- 🅿️ Parking: No parking available

This is the exterior — it sits in the passage between the subway and IFC Mall. Also not far from the inline skating rink, so location: solid!!
Hyeonseonine Premium menu prices: why the set is such good value

In this age of high prices... this is a much cheaper snack restaurant than the one I usually go to in my neighborhood. The priciest item, the Beer Set, is only ₩32,000 — these days even a single draft beer runs ₩5,500 at a cheap place, so two beers alone would be ₩11,000. And this comes with tteokbokki, sundae, gimbap and fried snacks, even a mixed platter, for ₩22,000? Whoa.

(Well, that's what you'd call a great deal.)

On top of that, there's even a review event, nice. And the fried chili peppers next to it look delicious... drooling.

Yes, please keep it in mind... haha.
Self-cook table or ready-cooked table at Hyeonseonine: which to choose?

There are two seating options. The self-cook style has an induction stove like this; the other kind has no stove, and the food comes out already cooked. Preferences seemed to vary — some people cook it themselves, others eat it pre-cooked.

Ah, I'm normally team self-cook... but today I had to save time and head to the skating rink, so this table won the draw!! Take care of my food for me~

I wanted to add the fried chili peppers that looked so good, but they were sold out — all gone for the day, sigh. Guess everyone's eyes land on the same thing haha. Especially since 4 pieces for ₩7,000 is such a deal, argh. Next time~
What comes in the 23,000-won Hyeonseoni Set

<Hyeonseoni Set, ₩23,000> Ta-da~ tteokbokki, sundae, gimbap, mixed fried snacks, and fish cake broth served in a proper bowl. That broth is such a precious thing for the spice-shy — a lifesaver for my boyfriend. I love spicy food, but he's a spice wimp, so he absolutely needs that fish cake broth..
Is this what they mean by taking snack food seriously? Even during the brief moment the sundae was being brought out, they kept it covered so it'd stay warm.

Touched all over again~ I've never had this kind of treatment at a snack restaurant before, hehe.
And of course you dip the gimbap in the broth like this~! Anyone who doesn't isn't Korean, agreed? Gimbap is tasty plain, but dipped in tteokbokki broth it becomes a whole other dish — everyone knows this, everyone knows the taste~ that familiar taste is scary good~
How medium-spice broth tteokbokki and sundae with lung taste

The soft lung was practically like eating soup, so tender it slurped right down, soaked through with broth — delicious. This place really is a tteokbokki spot, haha. I ordered medium spice, and it was just right for gulping down broth by the spoonful!! A good kind of flavor!! That kind of flavor!! It hits clean and sharp but leaves a spicy lingering aftertaste [word salad; basically it means it's good].
Mixed fried snacks: fried squid and fried dumplings

This fried squid, I dipped lightly in soy sauce~

The fried dumplings were kept warm under a blanket of fish cake, so I devoured them~ crispy outside, soft inside, with dumpling flavor filling my mouth abundantly~~
Enough food for two: would the writer go back to Hyeonseonine?

The broth was insane. Delicious enough to drink on its own — I basically drank almost all of it, hahaha. It was so good. I was going to add the fried chili peppers, but with this much food, if I had, we would've had leftovers. It's just the right amount for two hungry guys. Great to get a variety of flavors at a fair price in times like these. Especially the sundae, with lung and liver mixed in generously, made picking through it extra fun. I'd definitely visit again :) See you next time~
