Why I went back to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang in Sindang

I went to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch (진성한우곱창 신당직영점) in Sindang-dong with a college friend after work on a Friday. Yes, I ate gopchang again… haha. After eating at the Jinseong branch in Jamsil last time, I kept thinking of my friend who loves Jinseong. Right after I got back from my trip to Sydney, I made plans with her and we went for gopchang! ><

This friend is a college friend who reads every single one of my blog posts, no skipping..!!! So I have to meet her regularly! Because she has to appear on my blog too~~~ Are you reading this today too..? *__*

📍We came to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch! My friend lives near Sindang-dong, and before I changed jobs I worked around here too, so whenever we wanted gopchang we often came to this Sindang beef gopchang favorite! It's our place of memories~~~ So even though it took me 2 hours after work to get there, I went!

Does Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang take reservations? How long is the Friday wait?

On this visit, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch said it doesn't take reservations, so we waited, and at 7:20pm on a Friday it took 40 minutes. Of course it was packed?! It seems even busier than before!

I'd been told reservations were necessary, so I booked two weeks ahead, but in the meantime the system changed and they no longer take reservations, so I had to wait T_T I made my booking before the system changed, though T_T

Chives and Mijeolma sauce. I also had a 2-hour trip home, and with the unexpected wait I was in a hurry, so I ordered the moment we sat down.

Scallion kimchi: the secret weapon at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang

The kick at Jinseong is the kimchi. Our pick in particular was the scallion kimchi (daepa kimchi). When you grill the gopchang, be sure to put all the scallion kimchi on too and grill it together.

Hanwoo gopchang at ₩19,000 per portion, 2 portions to start

The 2 portions of hanwoo gopchang we ordered as soon as we sat down! I love that there are so many vegetables: bean sprouts, kimchi, chives, even cabbage~~~ A bounty of kimchi! If there were no kimchi~~ what would we even taste the gopchang with!

Open doors, street-stall vibes and staff-grilled gopchang

The weather's been nice lately, so Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch had its doors open for a street-stall (yajang) feel!! I wasn't right at the front, but I sat next to that spot, so I was in a great mood. And with the doors open, the gopchang smell seems to cling to you less~~~ If not, I'm sorry to the subway passengers and bus passengers sitting next to me..🙏

At Jinseong, a Sindang gopchang favorite, the staff grill the gopchang from start to finish! They bring it out pre-grilled and then cook it exactly, with a timer! Perfectly cooked gopchang~~~

Toss it in Mijeolma sauce and oh my, how good it is! There are so many vegetables that you don't get sick of the gopchang even when you eat a lot haha

When they finish grilling and tell you to eat, what must you not forget? Putting more of your favorite kimchi on to grill together! I recommend the scallion kimchi.

A daily discount for the 52nd guest at Jinseong?

Oh, from what I heard at the next table, there seems to be an entry-order event too? It sounded like they give a discount to the 52nd person to enter every day~~

Gopchang and steamed egg without alcohol

Wait, why didn't I drink while eating gopchang?! I got a flu shot today… my arm wouldn't lift and I was scared, so I skipped it,, Ah, I should still have asked you whether you wanted a drink.. forgive me for being so insensitive… But the gopchang is delicious even without alcohol.

Steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) came out too, so we ate it in between haha

Two women, 3 portions of hanwoo gopchang in Sindang

We added 1 more portion of the ₩19,000 hanwoo gopchang, so the two of us ate 3 portions of just gopchang. It felt like something was missing, so we ordered another round lol. I was torn between gopchang and fried rice, but I was craving gopchang so badly…. With so many vegetables and so many kinds of kimchi, you really don't get sick of it?!? And that's how we became two women who ate 3 portions of just gopchang…⭐️

We chatted a ton with my friend! Mostly about villains at work…haha I wanted to chat more… but when we came out after eating it was already 9:30 T_T We had no choice but to part T_T Let's go eat something yummy again next time~~
