Unexplained neck inflammation: why I visited Stern Clinic

For the past few months I've had inflammation of unknown cause on my neck, so I visited Stern Clinic (스테른클리닉), an aesthetic clinic in Bundang that specializes in problem skin. It's been a while since my last aesthetic clinic post, and my earlier beauty posts were mostly about acne, so this one is a little different.

I've been to so many clinics and still don't know the exact diagnosis,, the first one was contact dermatitis; now they say some of the lesions might be acne, folliculitis, and so on.. In the end, everyone's reasonable guess is that stress lowered my immunity,,

Anyway, these mystery inflammations cover my neck and I've been going through the days feeling pretty down, seeing a dermatologist once a week, until I found an aesthetic clinic near my home that specializes in problem skin, so I went! It felt quite professional. The reason I go to an aesthetic clinic instead of a dermatologist is the more careful, detailed attention, and the hands-on touch, right? Stern Clinic spends about an hour on the consultation alone, so I think they really put their heart into every single customer!

What is the inside of Stern Clinic like?

Stern Clinic is on the 4th floor of Donghyeon Plaza Building, in a commercial building that looks quite old, but when I got out of the elevator I was surprised by the really luxurious interior and the spacious layout, haha. There were lots of consultation rooms, and the waiting area was huge too!

How is neck dermatitis diagnosed? Detailed imaging consultation

At Stern Clinic, before the consultation with the director, they first took photos for an accurate skin diagnosis. You can see my neck in this photo too, right? ㅠ They photographed my face, then shot just the neck area again!

In the consultation, the director gives an overall skin diagnosis based on what the machine captured, so you can see where you stand against the average for hydration, wrinkles, pigmentation and so on! Since my problem area is the neck, they used a precision camera to zoom in and photograph each spot one by one, and what's on the monitor is my neck skin magnified, spot by spot!

Even dermatologists don't do this kind of diagnosis, so I loved being able to examine the lesions this precisely. Being able to see the exact condition of skin that the naked eye can't properly judge was a huge help in figuring out what I need most right now.

Diagnosis: steroid cream damage and the Extreme Super Lipid program

According to Stern Clinic's diagnosis, my neck skin was severely damaged from long-term steroid ointment use. The director's judgment was that repairing this damage comes first, so we decided to go with the Extreme Super Lipid program!

The treatment room was a clean, tidy private room,

and in the room the therapist checked my skin closely once more with a camera before starting the program!

Neck extractions: do they hurt? The first step at Stern Clinic

The first step of the Extreme Super Lipid program was extraction, and at Stern Clinic the neck extractions were almost painless. The photo above is my neck before the treatment ㅠ I only took photos where it was possible during the whole procedure.

Honestly, out of every aesthetic clinic and hospital I've been to, they did the extractions most delicately and carefully. The neck hurts much more than the face, and I'd already had extractions twice at a dermatology clinic, two weeks apart, so I knew how much it should hurt, but at Stern Clinic there was really almost no pain. They said my skin damage was severe and my blood vessels were already quite dilated from heavy extractions, so they only carefully extracted the inflammations my skin could handle ㅠ

After extractions: light and wavelength therapy and a freeze-dried mask

After extractions comes anti-inflammatory light therapy! I got a lot of wavelength therapy that day.

How long does a treatment at Stern Clinic take?

The Extreme Super Lipid care I received takes about 2 hours, so with the consultation it came to about 3 hours in total! I could feel how sincerely they treat customers and how carefully they examine and care for your skin at every step.

After everything was finished, Stern Clinic gave me samples of its own skincare, portioned out to suit my skin type! Buying a whole bottle without trying it is a bit of a commitment, so being able to try it first and buy later was great right to the very end.
