Hongdae chicken restaurant with outdoor seats: two sauces at Goobne

It's hard to find a Korean who doesn't love chicken, haha. There are so many great chicken restaurants in Hongdae, but let me give you my honest review of a new one!

Where is Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road, and what are the hours?

Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road is located at 17 Jandari-ro 2-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Hours are 11:00 - 02:00 (Fri-Sat until 03:00), Naver Reservation is available, and there are coupons too.

Exit 1 of Hongik University Station! As the sun starts to set, this is when Hongdae starts getting crowded. Walk a little from Exit 1 and tucked into an alley I spotted this great chicken restaurant in Hongdae — Goobne Chicken! I've only ever ordered Goobne delivery, never eaten it at the store, so this place looked good for dining in, so I visited!

Inside Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road: pub mood and a restroom with a shower

Arrived at Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road! This isn't the Goobne we all know, is it? Totally clean and hip vibe haha. Heading straight to the bar.

The interior didn't feel like a typical Hongdae chicken restaurant at all — it had a real pub feel, which was surprising haha. So so clean!

You might wonder why I'd even take a photo of the restroom, but look how clean it is — it even has a shower! The interior felt upscale, and since it's newly opened, everything had that brand-new feel.

Menu prices, plus the beer and cocktail promotions

Goobne's menu includes Original, Gochu Basasak, Volcano, and half-and-half options, and there's even a Goobne roasted drumstick dish I'd never seen before, pretty interesting! They're also running a Budweiser beer promo for ₩4,900. Come get your chicken and beer right now.

And what surprised me — cocktails were ₩3,900 each? A price I'd never seen in my life haha. The promo runs until 10pm, so make sure to enjoy it while you can!! It's wild that a place like this exists with today's prices.

Anyway, I went back and forth agonizing between Original and Basasak, and ended up going with the classic Original haha. It was a cool evening so we sat outside! You order via QR code right at the table.

How does the original bone-in chicken taste with Budweiser draft?

I used to eat a lot of Goobne's boneless original as a kid, but this time I ordered the bone-in original version! Fried chicken is great too, but after a while I was craving that lean roasted chicken. Once you order, they bring it out looking gorgeous. The aroma alone made my mouth water.

Can't skip the draft beer!! I love Budweiser, and having it on draft at a promo price meant there was no reason not to order it. Draft beer really suits an outdoor terrace, doesn't it?

Two sauces come along for dipping — sweet and spicy! Having two sauces made me really happy. Glossy, crispy, savory oven-roasted chicken with really tender, delicious meat.

Delicious original chicken and cold draft beer at this great chicken restaurant in Hongdae... plus the cool weather made it the perfect trio.

Outdoor seats or the 2nd-floor group tables: who should come?

As the sun slowly set, the Goobne sign lit up even brighter. I really love this new chicken restaurant in Hongdae. It seems like a great place to stop by for chicken if you're out for a neighborhood walk and craving it haha. The 2nd floor also has spacious seating, so it'd be great for group gatherings or company dinners too!

If you're out and about in Hongdae on a nice day, I recommend visiting Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road!! If you're into Basasak, try that one. I'm planning to try it myself next time.
