What is Something About Coffee, the café near Sinnonhyeon Station?
Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피) is a café near Sinnonhyeon Station with lots of desserts and a great mood. Today I'm introducing the café where I went on a date. Last time, after a meal, I stopped by Something About Coffee right across the street, and it had plenty of desserts and a nice atmosphere. It's also been around longer than you'd think, you know? Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Station change so much, so surviving here this long earns a fair bit of trust.

- Hours: 11:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m. (daily)

Something About Coffee is also a big café that uses floors 1 through 3. The roomy space makes it comfortable for a date, and you can sit on whichever floor you like.

Order on the 2nd floor: what does the dessert display look like?
When you walk into Something About Coffee, you order on the 2nd floor, and up there you'll find a huge variety of desserts. This was a revisit for me, by the way. I'd come before with my mom.

They even display the desserts so prettily.. There were lots of baked goods, and up front cakes and sando (sandwich-style desserts), so many desserts, honestly! As a total bread-and-dessert lover, I go crazy for this, haha.

Personally, there's a cookie that looks like an egg tart and it was delicious.. With that egg tart cookie and a cup of americano, I didn't need any other dessert that day.

How much is the americano at Something About Coffee?
An americano at Something About Coffee is ₩6,500 as standard. It's Gangnam, so I think this price range is the norm, and most other cafes were about the same. They also sell non-coffee options like teas, decaf and cream-based drinks.

Seating on floors 1–3 and the terrace
It really is a café with floors 1 through 3, so you can visit without worrying about finding a seat. There are even wide tables and chairs.. It was raining that day, but when it's dry there's an outdoor terrace too. There were more seats in the nooks and corners than I expected, and the restroom is inside, so you can visit with peace of mind.

If it hadn't rained, maybe I'd have sat at that terrace spot in the back..? (Though it might have been hot..;;) Anyway, Something About Coffee is fine to visit on a nice day, and also fine on a rainy or snowy day.

What I ordered: americano, cold brew matcha, peach cake, egg tart cookie
So what did I order at Something About Coffee? An americano, a cold brew matcha, a peach cake and an egg tart cookie. I wanted something other than coffee for a change, so I tried a cold brew drink with matcha in it.

The door in the background gives off a vintage mood, and overall it looks both vintage and appetizing.

If you're big on Instagram, this is a good place to come and take lots of photos! It's famous for tasty desserts, so whichever one you pick, you'll probably enjoy it.

How does the peach cake taste?
It was a cake topped with crisp-type peaches (딱복, firm yellow peaches). It was fresher and tangier than I expected, and went well with the cream.

The peach cake was soft and went well with coffee. I'd say it's a combo that's bound to be delicious even with a latte. I recommend taking the fruit on top, the fresh cream and the sponge in one bite.

The egg tart cookie: a flavor I want again
Ahh.. I want the egg tart cookie at Something About Coffee again.. The egg custard inside is super soft and sweet, while the outside is crisp like a cookie. That texture says it all. The cookie texture inside went wonderfully with the soft custard.

Who is Something About Coffee good for?
Drinking the cold brew matcha with the egg tart cookie put me in such a good mood. Something About Coffee is a Sinnonhyeon Station café that works as a date to end the day, or as a stop right after lunch.

The overall mood is nice, and it's also good for coming with a group of friends.

I think it's a café that can satisfy anyone's taste, whoever you come with :)
