IFC Mall always has too many options, which honestly makes it harder to decide. Korean food, Japanese food, burgers, pasta — it's all there. But this day, once tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) popped into my head, nothing else registered haha.

So after some deliberation, I ended up at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch. I'd noticed the crowds there before, every time I walked through the underground passage connecting Yeouido Station to IFC Mall. This time I finally gave in and went inside haha. I went for tteokbokki but walked out having eaten the fritters, sundae, and gimbap too — worth a visit if you're hunting for good tteokbokki in Yeouido.

How to reach Hyeonseonine from Yeouido Station through IFC Mall

Hyeonseonine sits in the shopping strip along the underground passage connecting Yeouido Station to IFC Mall. The best part was not having to go outside at all when coming from Line 5 or 9 toward IFC Mall — especially handy in midsummer heat or on rainy days when even a short outdoor walk feels like a hassle.

Since it's a straight shot underground, it's a great stop for a meal while shopping at IFC Mall, or for Yeouido office workers grabbing lunch. There were plenty of tables inside plus outdoor-facing seats, so there was more seating than I expected.

I visited in the afternoon and got seated right away with no wait. A solid Yeouido tteokbokki spot if you want a clean space to enjoy Korean street food comfortably.

You can choose the spice level for the tteokbokki, and I went with medium.

I didn't have the courage to go for the spicy option haha. The moment it arrived, the color of the tteokbokki alone already looked delicious.

With tteokbokki, the red sauce look is half the flavor — and this one passed on looks alone.

Taste-wise, the sauce was rich and tasty enough that I ended up dipping the fritters and even the gimbap in it. In the end I practically scraped the sauce clean haha. This is exactly the kind of sauce that makes people search for the best tteokbokki in Yeouido, and I was more than satisfied.

It's conveniently located right along the path from the subway to IFC Mall, and ordering just one Hyeonseoni set gets you a proper spread of tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, and gimbap. My personal recommendation: medium-spice tteokbokki plus vegetable fritters plus mini gimbap!
