Yongin Suji noodle spot with maze udon and fried shrimp: Chilseong
In short
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is a noodle restaurant on Seongbok 1-ro in Suji-gu, Yongin. After joining the Catch Table waitlist at 12:30pm on a Saturday, the writer ordered the maze udon set, the spicy hangover fresh noodle set with extra spice, and 3 pieces of fried shrimp. The verdict: leftover maze udon toppings mixed into the mini rice make a second maze rice bowl, and the anchovy-broth fresh noodle soup has a gentle spicy kick that works well as a hangover cure.

I heard there was a place in Yongin that's serious about noodles, so I went to check it out~ It was hot out and I wanted something noodle-based that wasn't scalding, and it just so happened Chilseong Jemyeonso in Suji, Yongin, is supposedly a noodle master haha. They also do a variety of noodle dishes, pork cutlets, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and more — a restaurant known nearby for pleasing everyone regardless of taste. A great spot to visit with family, a partner, or friends — here's my review of Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch :)
Parking and waiting at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is on the 1st floor of Seohee Star Hills on Seongbok 1-ro, and there's a dedicated underground parking lot you can use for free. There were plenty of spots and since it's free parking, accessibility was great!

We visited around 12:30pm on a Saturday, which was the hottest time for weekend lunch out, so we waited a bit before getting seated.

Looking around, there were really a lot of families here~ There are menu items kids love as well as dishes suited for adult meals, so I guess that's why it's popular haha.

We joined the wait via Catch Table, so keep that in mind~
The atmosphere and kid-friendly amenities

The interior of Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is clean and there are quite a lot of tables, so turnover seems fast. The white-and-wood tones make for a comfortable atmosphere~
The table right in the middle of the hall is a spacious one that can seat up to 8 people. Great for a big family gathering or a friends' get-together!

Toward the back of the restaurant there are kids' tableware, kids' spoons, forks, and small plates set out, so feel free to grab them if needed~ And yes, there's a baby chair too haha.

Apparently the white jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) is Chilseong Jemyeonso's signature dish~! Besides that there are so many appealing menu items — chogye guksu (cold chicken noodle soup) is also so tempting in summer~

What we ordered

- Maze udon set
- Spicy hangover fresh noodle set
- Fried shrimp (3 pieces)
- Zero-sugar cola

Maze udon set: noodles, a rice bowl, and pork cutlet all in one
📣 This is the maze udon set. Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch's maze udon set comes with maze udon, mini rice, and a side pork cutlet. Looking at the menu, I wanted to try this and that lol, so I ordered the maze udon set!! Eat the maze udon, then mix the mini rice with what's left to make a maze rice bowl, then finish off the side pork cutlet — total perfection hahaha!!!! You crack the egg yolk on top of the maze udon and gently stir it in, and there's a good amount of toppings on top. Mixing it all up and taking a bite, the deep meaty flavor really came through, with the umami fully alive🧡

A few more bites in, the nutty, deep flavor kept coming up and it was really satisfying haha. There was plenty of toppings so the texture varied bite to bite, and I piled toppings on for the very last noodles too. The bonito flakes flavor really came through strong — bonito flakes, the champion of umami~ Once you take a bite, you can't put your chopsticks down!! It was so good I finished the noodles in no time, seriously lol.

Since there's so much topping, some is left over, and that's where the mini rice comes in — mix it all up and voilà, maze rice bowl complete-! Enjoy the noodles and the rice bowl both ^_^

The side pork cutlet was also amazing. The outside is fried crispy, so the moment you bite in it's all crunch 𓈒𓏸𓐍 ♡ And the inside is so tender! One big bite and it's smooth with nothing chewy, and the juices are still there so the meat flavor feels even deeper — the richness is no joke ⸝⸝⸝♡ If you love pork cutlet, try ordering the whole pork loin cutlet separately! It's that good — almost a shame to only have it as a side ^_^

The spicy hangover fresh noodle set — with extra spice added
📣 This is the spicy hangover fresh noodle set. We added extra spice to Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch's spicy hangover fresh noodle set. Tasting this noodle dish, I understood why they say they're masters of noodle cooking. You first taste the clean anchovy broth, and then a gentle spicy kick builds on top of it — truly a flawless dish for curing a hangover🤍 The broth isn't aggressively spicy;
