Seosan dakgalbi restaurant with a cheese fountain show: Neuru Jip
In short
Neuru Jip Seosan Lake Park Branch is a Chuncheon-style dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and budae-jjigae (army stew) restaurant on Hosugongwon 3-ro in Seosan, Chungnam. After booking ahead, the reviewer ordered the 42,000 won couple set (cheese fountain dakgalbi for two, perilla oil makguksu and iron pot fried rice); staff trimmed the bone-in chicken and shaped the fried rice into a heart. The perilla oil makguksu was milder than expected, but the iron pot fried rice at Neuru Jip was good enough to scrape up every bit of the crispy bottom.

I've been talking non-stop lately haha. I was trying to figure out what to eat every evening, and today I really wanted something spicy — dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken). Searching for good spots near Seosan Lake Park, I found this one. Reservations were possible, so I booked ahead. "Neuru Jip"
Neuru Jip Seosan Lake Park Branch hours and parking
Neuru Jip Seosan Lake Park Branch is open Tue–Fri 16:00–24:00 and Sat–Sun 12:20–24:00, closed on Mondays. Parking is available right in front of the store, and if it's full you can use a nearby public parking lot.

Right there on the first floor is Neuru Jip

It says it specializes in Chuncheon-style dakgalbi and budae-jjigae (army stew)! I really wanted to try the budae-jeongol (army hot pot) too haha

Let's go inside haha

Vibe inside and the self-serve side dish bar
The inside of Neuru Jip was really clean! The AC was blasting too (so cool). There were quite a lot of seats.

Since we'd reserved ahead, we sat at the table that was ready for us! The side dishes were corn salad, perilla leaves, and water kimchi — the corn salad was so good haha. They said we could grab more from the self-serve bar if we ran out.

There's also a Naver receipt review event, in case that's useful to know.

Neuru Jip's menu and the 42,000 won couple set
Neuru Jip had a wide variety of menu items. Dakgalbi is the main dish, and there were add-ons like pork belly, minari (water dropwort), cheese, and gopchang (grilled intestines)! Looking again, I see they also have dakdoritang and gopdoritang (chicken/intestine stew). I definitely want to come back 🙂↕️🙂↕️

We ordered the couple set for 42,000 won (cheese fountain dakgalbi for two, perilla oil makguksu, and iron pot fried rice)!

There are also sides like makguksu, rice balls, and yeolmu kimchi naengmyeon (young radish kimchi cold noodles). That yeolmu kimchi... I'll definitely have to come back for it 🥺

Cheese fountain dakgalbi: bone prep and cooking tips
The dakgalbi came out super fast! Since it's the bone-in kind, a staff member trimmed it for us :) And right in the middle, just as the menu name promised — a cheese bomb!

They said it'd be ready to eat in about 3 minutes! After 3 minutes it was still pink inside, so we cooked it a bit longer haha. Make sure to check the inside of your dakgalbi before eating.

There was plenty of cabbage and perilla leaves, and the seasoning was well absorbed. Wow, the cheese melted so nicely too~~

How was the perilla oil makguksu?
The perilla oil makguksu that came with the set! It had a nutty, fragrant smell from all the perilla seeds haha

The perilla oil makguksu wasn't as rich in flavor as I expected. A little disappointing, ㅠ...ㅠ but it went really well wrapped up with the seasoned dakgalbi!

The cheese performance and thick dakgalbi meat
Up front, a cheese performance haha

Wrapping the dakgalbi in cheese made it burst with cheesy aroma and taste amazing.

The dakgalbi meat was nice and thick, very satisfying haha

Why the iron pot fried rice is the #1 recommendation
We finished the dakgalbi quickly, time for the K-dessert haha. The fried rice really is the proper finish to dakgalbi, so I strongly recommend trying it 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️ Scraping up the crispy rice stuck to the bottom is the true finale haha

If you tell the staff, they'll come over and stir-fry it with seaweed flakes, seasoning, and rice for you. And in a heart shape haha. Now I get why the fried rice is the #1 recommendation — it honestly might taste better than the dakgalbi itself haha. I was full but it was so good I forced down every last bite. The combo of seasoning, seaweed flakes, and the leftover dakgalbi was so good.
Overall thoughts on Neuru Jip
Finished off the dakgalbi with a great fried rice at Neuru Jip! Overall verdict!! The restaurant was clean overall, so it seemed like a good spot for family meals, friend gatherings, or work dinners too! The tables weren't packed too close together, so it was comfortable throughout the meal, and the strong AC made it pleasant even on a hot day haha. Since it's near my house, I think I'll come back whenever I'm craving seasoned dakgalbi :)
