On a chilly day the writer ordered chadol (thin-sliced beef brisket) pho, yangji (beef flank) pho and a mixed fried platter, comparing the nutty richness of the brisket with the clean taste of the flank. Mibundang's broth, made in-house, tasted a little different from typical pho. Mibundang Pyeongtaek City Hall Branch is worth a stop for a mild bowl of broth, whether you eat in or take it out.

La Cascata is a ciabatta-focused takeout bakery café at 606 Siheung-daero, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, between Guro Digital Complex Station and Sindaebang. The order was spring onion salt bread, corn salt bread, chocolate ciabatta and a coffee-free chodang sweet corn latte. The spring onion salt bread worked well as a light meal, and the chocolate ciabatta was not overly sweet. La Cascata puts ingredients and fermentation ahead of looks, making it an easy stop for office workers who love salt bread and meal breads.
