Ulsan shabu buffet on day 2 of opening, dry rice paper: Shabre Garden
In short
Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch is a shabu-shabu buffet that opened on June 17 on the 2nd floor of a medical building next to Suam Raw Fish Center in Nam-gu, Ulsan. The writer and her husband went on a weekday evening, the second day after opening, paying ₩29,900 per person; the highlights were the raw salmon sushi, the unlimited draft beer from the opening event and the jjamppong (spicy seafood) broth. A new shabu-shabu (hot pot) restaurant, Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch (샤브르정원 울산남구점), has opened in the new building next to Suam Raw Fish Center!!! It opened on June 17 and I went on day 2, and word had clearly already gotten around, because there was a wait and it was packed! I love shabu, and I can't resist a new place, so off I went!
These days every shabu place is set up like a buffet, but Shabre Garden's food quality is good, and the opening event has unlimited beer right now, so hurry over!!!
Where is Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch, and where do you park?
Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch is on the 2nd floor of the new medical building on the way into Suam Raw Fish Center and Suam Public Parking Lot. For parking, you can use the Suam Raw Fish Center lot or the Suam Public Parking Lot for 1 hour!

If you know the "vinyl house" place, the entrance is right in front of it.
Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch opening hours
Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch is open every day of the year, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is a break time (15:30–16:30)!
Inside the restaurant: does it feel crowded when it's busy?
The seating at Shabre Garden is divided into zones by high partitions, so even when it's full it doesn't feel hectic, which I liked! At shabu buffets you're often getting up to fetch vegetables yourself, but with the partitions you barely see other people moving around, which was nice.
I had to wait a bit to get in and the place was full of customers, but it was quiet while we ate!
Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch prices and broths
Prices at Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch are ₩24,900 for weekday lunch, ₩29,900 for weekday dinner, ₩31,900 on weekends and holidays, and ₩16,900 for elementary school students. There are two broths: vegetable broth and jjamppong broth.

I think it was my first time trying a jjamppong broth, and it really tasted like seafood jjamppong, so good!
Weekday dinner for two: what time should you go?
I ate there on a weekday evening, ₩29,900 × 2 people. Since Shabre Garden closes at 9 p.m., if you want to eat plenty I'd recommend getting in before 6:30 rather than going late in the evening!

What's at the buffet stations?
Shabre Garden has hotel-style buffet dishes, with a wide range of Korean, Western, Chinese and Japanese food, plus desserts.

Corn salad, potato salad, fusilli salad, sweet pumpkin salad, sweet potato salad, crab stick flower salad, Caesar salad... the salads alone are a huge range, right! I tried a little of each and they taste good too!
The sushi station: you have to try the raw salmon sushi
The sushi station at Shabre Garden also has a really wide variety! Food keeps getting refilled, but there are so many customers that it vanishes fast! Get your timing right!!!
Partway through, my husband brought back some salmon sushi and wow, the quality is so good. The salmon isn't frozen, it's raw salmon!!

It was so good that I went back for a few more pieces later!!

Egg sushi, raw shrimp sushi, octopus sushi, small squid sushi and more keep coming out!! There were two or more kinds of rolls too, and the flying fish roe roll is generously filled!
The meat and broth fridge, and the vegetable station
There are two kinds of meat at Shabre Garden, and each plate is generously portioned, so most people seemed to eat about 5–6 plates! Fresh meat was being prepared continuously.
There's a wide variety of vegetables too, and they're well looked after! Since they keep getting refilled, the vegetables are really the picture of freshness.
There are salads, pudding, fruit, grapefruit and cherry tomatoes to finish with, haha.

Opening-event unlimited draft beer and drinks
The big one: free unlimited draft beer!!!!!! As Shabre Garden's opening event, the draft beer is unlimited. Amazing, right~~ Beer glasses were piling up on everyone's tables~~

There's also a wide choice of drinks, from soda to pomegranate, grapefruit and plum drinks, and coffee.

Dessert: choco fondue waffles and bingsu
No way you skip dessert to finish!!! Shabre Garden has chocolate fondue and waffle croissants: press one down in the waffle maker to toast it warm, then pour the chocolate over the top, whoosh~~~

You can have bingsu (shaved ice dessert) too!!! The bingsu toppings are all lined up and I meant to finish with bingsu, but I was too full, sob.
Tips for enjoying shabu-shabu
My tip at Shabre Garden: bring your vegetables first and put them in the broth, then fetch your other food while it boils!! I like to scoop everything in one trip and then eat, so I brought the meat and everything at once.

The bowls for vegetables are big and wide, so it's easy to load up.

The beer is unlimited, so of course I'm drinking it~ Beer with shabu!!

The meat quality is so good!
Dry rice paper: no need to dip it in water
Shabre Garden's rice paper is the dry kind, so you don't need to soak it in water, just wrap and eat! The vegetables and meat fresh out of the shabu are warm, so the paper melts and softens. It skips a step, so it's even more convenient.

The meat is tender too, and it's best when you swish it in right before eating and eat it straight away!

Is Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch worth going back to?
I finished with dessert and fruit! From the meat to the sushi, I ate a wide variety and left really full!! The location is good, there's parking, the food is varied and plentiful, and it can take large groups, so I think Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch is going to do well!
