Scent Perfume Workshop is at 19 Dunsanjung-ro, Unit B187, Seo-gu, Daejeon, on the ground floor of the Sharkzone building, 387 m from Exit 1 of City Hall Station. It's open 10:00–19:00, and you can park in the Sharkzone parking lot.

What is the atmosphere like at Scent Perfume Workshop?

Scent Perfume Workshop is a clean, white-toned space. We parked in the Sharkzone lot at our reserved time and headed to the ground floor. 🎵 The moment we walked in, the fresh, tidy white interior caught my eye.

You can make perfume in private, but the space is also set up with all kinds of fragrance oils so groups can join in too, and just looking at it put me in a good mood. With this atmosphere, it's a great date spot among the perfume workshops in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon. 🫶🎶🩷

Perfume-making steps at Scent Perfume Workshop: from questionnaire to smelling the notes

Perfume making at Scent Perfume Workshop starts with choosing a bottle and cap and filling in a preference questionnaire. 🎀 After the introduction, we picked our bottles and caps and filled in the questionnaire. 🧡

🎀 The questionnaire checks which mood and which fragrance family you like. 🎵 I chose a unisex feel and a sensual feel, and for fragrance families I picked forest and woody.

How to choose your perfume notes

• Split the scent into three stages, Base, Middle and Top, and pick 2–4 styles for each.
• Write the ingredient name at the end of a scent strip first, dab on a little of the oil, and wave it in the air to smell it.

• Hold your chosen top, middle and base strips together and smell them as a blend to decide your final combination.

How does the 15-drop sampling test work?

The 1st and 2nd sampling tests at Scent Perfume Workshop use 15 drops in total. 🎀

The ratio is 3 top drops + 8 middle drops + 4 base drops in a mixing capsule. 🎀 Then we closed the lid, gave it a gentle shake, and dabbed it on a scent strip to check the balance. My sister and I are total bloodhounds~! We perked up our noses and savored every single one, haha

Which blend made a woody, unisex perfume?

My final blend is a base of sandalwood, white wood and moss, a middle of linen blossom, magnolia, marine and hanji (traditional Korean paper), and a top of bergamot.

• Top: bergamot

Actually, I tried adding tangerine to the top in the first round. But instead of the woody, unisex, classy feel I wanted, it came out strongly floral and feminine, so I boldly dropped it 💜🩵🧡

The owner thought through every choice with me and even adjusted the strip ratios carefully, so I got exactly the scent I wanted. 🫶🥳😍 🎵 Last up: the bottle and cap style~! And once the sticker goes on, we're done~!!🧡

The woody perfume I made at Scent Perfume Workshop lasted a long time and got deeper as time went on. I sprayed it on my wrist, and every little movement released a classy, charming scent.
