Charcoal cleansing balm for makeup removal: HEEDA Jirisan Moist Balm
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean charcoal cleansing balm in a 100ml jar. I massaged it onto dry skin before adding water to emulsify; it removed most makeup, though eyeliner needed dedicated remover. Verdict: a moisturizing balm cleanser with a two-step cleansing routine.

What are the texture and packaging of HEEDA Charcoal Cleansing Balm like?

The product came in a black balm formula in a black container. Its 100ml size felt generous, and the wide, low jar made it easy to scoop out with the spatula. There was another clear cap inside the one-touch lid; I removed it when I started using the product, then opened and closed it with the one-touch lid.

According to the original post, it is made in Korea using true charcoal from Jirisan. I expected it to be hard at first, but when I scooped it out with the spatula, it had the texture of slightly firm butter, so it was not difficult to take out an appropriate amount.

How did I use the cleansing balm?

First, I applied the balm to my face without wetting it and massaged it all over. Once it met my body heat, it melted as softly as whipped cream and spread like an oil, making it easy to massage around the sides of my nose and between fine lines.

Then I added water, massaged again to emulsify it, and rinsed. Since it is a black balm, I could see it turn grayish as it met water and emulsified. Rather than stopping at the oil stage, I found it felt cleaner when I thoroughly massaged during the emulsifying step too.

Did it remove makeup and sunscreen well?

In my experience, it removed various makeup products in one go. However, eyeliner that requires a dedicated remover needed a little more careful attention. After cleansing, I thought adding a light soap wash or foam cleanser could be a good option too.

What pore and moisturizing test figures are listed in the original post?

Pore-area improvement rate 56.4% / moisture-barrier improvement rate 84.4%

The original post stated that clinical testing for the figures above had been carried out. After using it, my skin seemed less dry after washing and still felt moisturized, but that is the writer's personal experience.

Can it also be used on the body?

The original post says it can be used once a week as a body pack on areas where sebum is a concern, such as the back or chest. Apply it to the area before showering, massage for about 30 seconds, then add water, emulsify thoroughly, and rinse.
