Friday is the day my child's academy class finishes earliest, so after pickup we headed to Steel Green Bakery (스틸그린베이커리), a big café in Seonggeo, Cheonan! I'd wanted to go for a while, but it's quite a drive and I kept wondering when we'd manage it. I regret not coming sooner, so let me tell you about this view-worthy café : )
What are the palm trees and fountains outside Steel Green Bakery like?
The outdoor area of Steel Green Bakery is decorated with palm trees, walking paths and fountains, giving it a Southeast Asian resort feel. The moment we pulled into the parking lot, we couldn't help saying "Wow!" at the exterior.
It really felt like a Southeast Asian resort café. With the palm trees, paths and fountains so nicely done, and the weather being great today, it felt like we were on a trip.
The photo zone with a giant coffee cup model beside the café was great for taking pictures with the kids. The blue sky and green background together made the colors come out beautifully 😆
What to order at Steel Green Bakery
We ordered one bread each: the signature bagel fruit sando, a vanilla toffee nut latte, plus salt bread, sausage bread, Sangha Farm chocolate ice cream and a matcha cookie. After exploring outside, we came in to pick our breads, and as a proper Cheonan bakery, the variety was wide and the looks were unreal 🥹
Everything looked so delicious that we ordered a really wide variety...❤️ One bread each! We started with the signature bagel fruit sando and vanilla toffee nut latte, then our family's always-ordered salt bread and sausage bread, plus the Sangha Farm chocolate ice cream and matcha cookie. Every single one was tasty 👍
The sausage bread seemed a tiny bit spicy for my child, who kept saying it was spicy but kept asking for more.. hahahaha
Steel Green Bakery floor by floor
As a big Cheonan café, Steel Green Bakery goes from the 1st floor up to a 4th-floor rooftop. The 1st floor is the ordering and pickup area, with a few tables.
2nd floor: floor-to-ceiling windows and an indoor fountain garden
The 2nd floor is clean and open with floor-to-ceiling windows and lots of tables. An indoor fountain garden sits right in the middle, so it felt like a small botanical garden. When you climb onto the bridge, you can see mini fountains on both sides, and the kids loved it : )
3rd floor: group and party seating
The 3rd floor had a different feel, with meetup and group seating! It seemed set up for seminars and group gatherings, so it should be good when a lot of people need to get together. Worth knowing!
4th-floor rooftop: turtle ship shade and a glass sky stairway
The rooftop at Steel Green Bakery has a shade structure styled like a turtle ship (geobukseon, the Joseon-era armored warship) and a sky stairway with a glass floor. I really loved this rooftop in particular. The turtle ship shade, or is it interior decor?, left a big impression. It's not an ordinary shade; adding a Korean touch like the turtle ship felt like a work of art!! The kids were excited too, going "Wow, it's a turtle ship!"~!
And the glass-bottomed sky stairway, where you can see straight down and your legs shake, meant there was truly something to see everywhere!!><
Is Steel Green Bakery in Cheonan good for kids?
At one side of the bread corner at Steel Green Bakery, Lego blocks sit in cups for kids to take and build with. You can feel the owner's thoughtful care for children.
At one side of the bread corner, there are small cups of Lego blocks. A sign said you can take a cup, build something and display it, so our kids each took one and focused on building, and we got to spend a fun time thanks to that 😊
I wrote this after receiving a small discount, but I liked everything about this view-worthy big café in Cheonan, Steel Green Bakery in Seonggeo. Our family will definitely visit again. If you have time, I recommend stopping by!
