Sinnonhyeon café, egg cookie & 3rd-floor seats: Something About Coffee
In short
Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피) is a three-floor dessert café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil, between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station in Seoul. Two people ordered an egg cookie (₩5,500), a chestnut sweet potato cheesecake (₩9,800), a black sesame cream latte (₩7,800) and an iced americano (₩6,500). On weekends, if the 2nd floor is full, the writer suggests checking the quieter 3rd-floor terrace seats first. With handmade desserts that aren't too sweet and plenty of seating, Something About Coffee is a good Sinnonhyeon café for a long chat with a friend.

What kind of café is Something About Coffee?
Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피) is a big, atmospheric café near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam. I just visited this lovely large café in Gangnam!

Baked goods like scones, cookies and financiers, plus all kinds of cakes, and even the plating has such a pretty European feel. That's Something About Coffee in Gangnam!

It's a big café spread over floors 1 to 3, so it works well for a group or when you want somewhere in Gangnam to talk for a long time~

Choosing drinks and desserts at Something About Coffee
At the 2nd-floor counter of Something About Coffee, they had drinks like the signature black sesame cream latte, baked goods, and new autumn cakes with fig and sweet potato. The ube menu seemed to be out of season and was nowhere to be seen.

I really wanted the ube menu, but it looks like the season's over and I couldn't find it anymore? T_T Such a shame, but the signature black sesame cream latte was available, so I locked in my drink and went to choose desserts first haha

There were so many kinds of desserts that I agonized over what to get T_T hahaha

The baked goods all looked so good, and with autumn here there were new cakes with figs and sweet potato too!!! T_T It's fun to browse the display one by one with so many choices, but that also made it hard to pick T_T

Where to find a seat at Something About Coffee on weekends
Something About Coffee has a wait at busy times and on weekends, so it's better to grab a seat before ordering. If the 2nd floor is full, I'd suggest going up to the 3rd floor, which has more terrace seats and empty spots than the 1st floor.
I ordered, then went to pick a seat!! This is the 2nd floor! Each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors has seating, so it's spacious, and besides indoor seats there are terrace seats too~

Maybe because the weather was nice, the terrace seats were really popular!! There's a wait at busy times and on weekends, so I recommend securing a seat before ordering!

I climbed the stairs to check out the 3rd floor too! It gets lots of sunlight and is so pretty, and it looks like there are restrooms on both the 2nd and 3rd floors!

Compared with the 2nd and 1st floors, the 3rd floor has relatively more terrace seats and more empty spots. So if you come on a weekend, scan the 2nd-floor seats where you order, and if there's nothing, I'd go up to the 3rd floor before trying the 1st haha
What two people ordered and how much it cost
At Something About Coffee, two of us ordered two drinks and two desserts. The prices of all four items are below.
- Egg cookie ₩5,500
- Chestnut sweet potato cheesecake ₩9,800
- Black sesame cream latte ₩7,800
- Iced americano ₩6,500

There were two of us, so we ordered two drinks and two desserts! The plating is so pretty, right?!

How does the Something About Coffee egg cookie taste?
The egg cookie (₩5,500) at Something About Coffee has a crisp cookie outside and a soft filling inside, so it's different from a regular egg tart. It's an egg tart, but the tart shell is a cookie!

It isn't very sweet, so even people who don't love sweets can enjoy it, and it's bigger than I expected, so if you have a small appetite I'd suggest sharing!

Is the chestnut sweet potato cheesecake too sweet?
The chestnut sweet potato cheesecake (₩9,800) at Something About Coffee nicely combines the rich sweetness of sweet potato with the dense, thick texture of cheesecake~ It's not too sweet but rich, and the nutty flavor of the cheese adds up to a refined taste!

Signature black sesame cream latte and iced americano
The black sesame cream latte (₩7,800) at Something About Coffee is all about the black sesame cream on top! That deep, nutty black sesame flavor! The cream was so good that I meant to taste a little first and then stir it in, but I ended up finishing all the cream first T_T hahaha

The iced americano (₩6,500) is clean-tasting too, with nutty beans and a moderate acidity!
Who is Something About Coffee in Sinnonhyeon good for?
Something About Coffee has plenty of seats from the 1st to 3rd floors, with tables spaced comfortably for talking, and a wide choice of desserts, so it's a Sinnonhyeon Station café that's great for hanging out and chatting with a friend! If you're looking for a big café near Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station, or want coffee together with many kinds of handmade desserts, give Something About Coffee a visit!
