Sindorim bar for sea urchin roe and sweet shrimp: Mugeunji, Seoul
In short
Korean Suljip Mugeunji is a Korean bar in the Sindorim food alley, a 3-minute walk from Sindorim Station exits 2 and 3 in Guro, Seoul. On a weekday evening get-together, the table at Mugeunji held spicy blue crab stew, sweet shrimp with sea urchin roe, and salt-grilled garlic and ginkgo nuts, and the best part was piling the sea urchin roe and shrimp onto roasted seaweed and wrapping it up. Highly recommended in Sindorim for Korean dishes that work as both dinner and drinking food.

Headed to the Sindorim food alley for a spontaneous weekday evening drink with friends. Picked Korean Suljip Mugeunji (한국술집 무근지) as the spot for good Korean food and drinks — a Guro bar that YouTuber Huibap had also visited, so expectations were high.

Where is Korean Suljip Mugeunji, and what are its hours?
Korean Suljip Mugeunji / 36 Saemal-ro 18-gil, Guro-gu, Seoul, 1F / Daily 17:00–01:00 / Last order 23:50 / Groups and reservations available, no parking
Just a 3-minute walk from Sindorim Station exits 2 and 3, so it's easy to get to and easy to find for a spontaneous meetup!!

True to its name, this Sindorim bar had a wide range of Korean-style drinking snacks — from familiar staples to more clever ingredient combos — making it a great place for a quick drink that turns into a full meal with drinks on the side.

Seats and atmosphere inside Mugeunji
Even on a weekday evening, this Sindorim bar was nearly full. With two-tops, outdoor-style seating, and group tables for larger parties, it's perfect for a Sindorim evening date spot or an afterparty for group gatherings and weddings alike! The lighting was on the dimmer side, giving it that cozy, relaxed vibe typical of a good drinking spot.

First order: spicy blue crab stew
Our first order at Mugeunji was spicy crab stew. The pot arrived packed with big, hearty crab, and since we caught it during crab season, the quality was fantastic!!!

The spicy crab stew here is spicy yet clean-tasting, not heavy at all. As it simmers and the crab flavor deepens, it becomes the perfect pairing for soju! Take a sip of soju, a spoonful of broth, and you naturally reach for the next glass. And the thick crab meat — absolutely perfect 👍

Sweet shrimp and sea urchin roe wrapped in roasted seaweed
Our second pick was sweet shrimp with sea urchin roe. I personally think freshness is everything for this combo, and this exceeded expectations!!! The sweet shrimp had that sweet, springy texture, while the sea urchin roe spread a savory, rich flavor smoothly across the palate.

It's great on its own, but the moment you wrap the sea urchin roe and sweet shrimp in the roasted seaweed served alongside, the flavor really comes alive — crisp, nutty seaweed, rich sea urchin roe, and sweet, springy shrimp all coming together in one bite for a burst of umami 😋 Not a heavy, filling snack, but one that lifts up the taste of the drink — personally my favorite dish at this Sindorim bar!! Big props to this combination 👏👏👏

A light side: salt-grilled garlic and ginkgo nuts
As a simple side, we also ordered the salt-grilled garlic and ginkgo nuts. The garlic and ginkgo are grilled plainly and dipped in salt — the nicely browned garlic had a mellow, subtle sweetness, and the ginkgo nuts were nutty, so we kept picking at them one by one. Not a dish with heavy seasoning, just letting the ingredients' own flavor shine — even the salt tasted good with this one, a real Guro bar snack.
What to order at Mugeunji for a Sindorim evening date or last-minute meetup
Filling up on the spicy, clean crab stew, lifting the palate with the shrimp and sea urchin roe, then finishing with the salt-grilled garlic and ginkgo nuts — this was a perfect menu combination at this Sindorim bar. Highly recommend it for a Korean-style meal with drinks 🙌🙌

If you're looking for a spot in the Sindorim food alley for a drink with Korean-style snacks, or a comfortable Sindorim evening date spot for a relaxed conversation, this is a Guro bar I'd highly recommend. From the spicy crab stew to the sweet shrimp with sea urchin roe to the salt-grilled garlic and ginkgo nuts, it was a perfectly rounded drinking-snack lineup!!!
