What sashimi did I take out for dinner at our Hajodae accommodation?
After several consecutive days of barbecue on our Yangyang trip, I wanted something different. I picked up an assorted sashimi platter for two from Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout (어실장 회포장) so we could eat comfortably at our accommodation.
The children wanted meat, so we prepared barbecue for them while my husband and I had sashimi.
What came with the sashimi platter for two?
When I opened the takeout container, it felt more substantial than I expected. There were several kinds of sashimi cut into easy-to-eat pieces, along with shrimp, abalone, and other seafood to enjoy alongside it. Rather than eating just one kind, we could pick from different options, so it did not feel monotonous for two people.
They also included garlic, chili peppers, ssam vegetables, seaweed, and sauces, so we only had to spread everything out at the accommodation. It was convenient that the accompaniments needed for takeout were included.
What were the sashimi and seafood like?
The sashimi felt chewy and clean-tasting. It was sliced thickly, giving it a pleasant bite, and each variety had a slightly different texture, which made choosing what to eat enjoyable.
The abalone was pleasantly firm, and the shrimp made the assorted platter for two feel quite plentiful. After eating meat for several meals in a row, changing one meal to sashimi was satisfying.
Was it easy to share at the accommodation with children?
It was convenient that the children could have meat and the adults could have sashimi while still eating dinner together at the accommodation. We brought it to our accommodation near Hajodae, washed up, changed into comfortable clothes, and laid out the meal. We could eat more leisurely than when timing a meal at a restaurant.
