Yangyang Korean barbecue lunch with meat pot rice: Yeoyejeong
In short
Yeoyejeong is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Seo-myeon, Yangyang, where I had the lunch-special gogi sotbap, saeng galbi, and naengmyeon while travelling through the area. The tender ribs and refreshing noodles were good, but the sweet-and-savoury meat pot rice was the dish I remembered most; parking in front was also easy.

Wanting a hearty lunch while travelling through Yangyang, I stopped by Yeoyejeong (여여정) in Seo-myeon. I ordered the lunch-special gogi sotbap (meat pot rice) with saeng galbi (fresh ribs) and naengmyeon (cold noodles), and the meat pot rice with its sweet-and-savoury seasoning was what I remembered most.
Where is Yeoyejeong, and is parking easy?
The address is Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Yangyang-gun, Seo-myeon, Ssangsolbaegi-gil 49. I liked its mountain setting, and it was easy to stop by along my route to Yangyang. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was spacious, so parking was straightforward.

When the original post was written in August 2026, the listed hours were 11:30–21:00 from Wednesday through Monday. The break time was 15:00–17:00, and it was listed as closed every Tuesday.
Is there enough space for a group meal?
The interior was more spacious than I expected. There were four-person tables, and I thought it would work well for a group meal too.

What did I order for lunch, and how much was it?
After looking over the menu, I chose the lunch-special gogi sotbap. I also ordered saeng galbi and naengmyeon for a filling meal. These are the prices recorded in the original post.

- Lunch-special gogi sotbap: ₩13,000
- Saeng galbi: two orders at ₩17,000 each
- Yeoyejeong naengmyeon: ₩5,000
How were the side dishes and the ribs I grilled myself?
The basic side dishes were well suited to eating with the meat. The lettuce in particular was fresh and stood out to me.

The charcoal arrived, followed shortly by the meat. The saeng galbi had a nice amount of marbling, so I was looking forward to it even before grilling.

Grilling it myself, I found it tender and juicy. It did not feel tough or dry, and it became nuttier in flavour the more I chewed. The amount of meat I ordered also felt generous.

What did the lunch-special meat pot rice taste like?
The gogi sotbap was the dish I remembered most that day. It came with plenty of meat, and I was satisfied with it at the lunch-special price.

The seasoning was sweet and savoury, reminding me of dwaeji galbi (marinated pork ribs). It went well with the fluffy, separate grains of rice, and every spoonful felt generously filled with meat.

To my taste, it seemed mild enough for children and adults to enjoy together. I finished with nurungji (scorched rice) as well.

Did the naengmyeon go well with the fresh ribs?
The naengmyeon stood out for its cool, gently flavoured broth. It was good for refreshing my palate after the meat, and it paired well with the saeng galbi too.

The noodles were cooked to my liking, so I enjoyed them through the end of the meal. The tender saeng galbi and sweet-and-savoury gogi sotbap stayed with me, and I would like to return on my next trip to Yangyang.
