Mangpo Station has enough good restaurants to fill a whole food street, haha, bars included — but I still think cafés are my favorite. Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch has sofa seats and comfy chairs at every single table, so it's wonderfully easy to settle in, and it's an absolutely great spot for laptop work.

How are the seats at Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch for laptop work?
The real strength of Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch is the spacious sofa seating — genuinely comfortable. A lot of trendy-looking cafés these days are pretty but really uncomfortable to sit in, ugh. Hongrad is a place that nails both the aesthetic and comfortable long stays.

Solo work seats and a cozy corner
The interior of Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch is pretty spacious! There's a section on one side for working alone. The seats are lined up against the wall on one side, which gives it a stable, study-café kind of feeling, don't you think?

This spot is a really cozy seat — when I come alone, I often end up sitting here too. Apparently it's a prime spot for nearby college students during exam period.

Two-person facing seats and the weekday mood
There's also a section with chair seating for two people facing each other, and even these chairs are really cushy. It gets really crowded on weekends, but coming on a weekday meant I could spend time without any crowds — I was pretty happy about that at Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch, hahaha.

The trinket corner and pet-friendly policy at Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch
In the middle of the café, Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch has cute trinkets on display — and they're for sale! Cute Monchhichi stickers, rings, keyrings, buttons...

The display pieces are cute too.

All the cute stuff was gathered in one place.

How did the rooibos, decaf americano, and matcha Basque cheesecake taste?
What I ordered at Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch was the rooibos, decaf americano, and matcha Basque cheesecake.

Rooibos: a subtle earthy note and a toasty sweetness
Hongrad's rooibos was tasty, haha. It has a subtle, reddish earthy aroma plus a toasty sweetness. No astringent or sharp notes at all, so it's the kind of tea anyone can drink comfortably — that's why I enjoy it, and Hongrad's tea bags were good too! Just so you know, rooibos has no caffeine, so it's fine to drink even in the evening without worry.

Decaf americano: nutty with a heavy body
This was my first time ordering decaf americano at Hongrad, and even without caffeine, it had that nutty, bean-forward flavor and heavy body you'd expect from a regular americano! The signature acidity wasn't too sharp and felt clean, so it was easy to drink. I was personally satisfied getting that clean coffee flavor without the caffeine worry! If you need decaf, come to Hongrad.

Matcha Basque cheesecake: bitter exterior, dense interior
Hongrad is originally famous for its toast, but today I was craving cheesecake, so I tried the matcha Basque cheesecake. The smoky, charred exterior was bitter, and the cheese inside was dense and fudgy.

The moment it hit my mouth, a deep matcha aroma spread heavily through — exactly my kind of flavor. The sweetness wasn't too much, and the characteristic bitterness of matcha gave it good balance. I'd order this again next time!

Who would I recommend Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch to?
If you're looking for a café near Mangpo Station, I'd highly recommend Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch! The space is really spacious, and with so many cushy sofa seats, it's great both for chatting comfortably and for studying. The space is pleasant, and the desserts were pretty good too, haha.
