Uiwang outlet café, Lotus s'more cookie on summer break: Jeong Jiyoung

A new café at Lotte Outlet Uiwang: Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang Branch (정지영커피로스터즈) is a café that opened on the 3rd floor of the same building as the new Shake Shack and Outback. Every time I visit Lotte Outlet Uiwang, there are plenty of good restaurants, but cafés like Starbucks and Oops a Daisy are so packed that it always left me a little disappointed. Then Shake Shack and Outback moved in, and Jeong Jiyoung Coffee opened on the 3rd floor with them, so I went to check it out.

The coffee was good, there are desserts, you get a discount if you eat at an outlet restaurant, and since it sits on a hill the view was great. Here's my review in photos and words.

Where is Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters in the outlet?

Seen from the outdoor lawn plaza, Jeong Jiyoung Coffee is in the building above the playground. It's at the very back of the lawn plaza, where the restaurants and cafés of Uiwang Premium Outlet cluster, so the view is great.

The building has Shake Shack on 1F, Outback Steakhouse on 2F and Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters on 3F. It was hot, so we skipped the lawn plaza and went inside. If you go the indoor way, it's the dog-friendly building that was in front of Samcheongdong Shabu.

Order on 3F, sit on the 4F upper level with a forest view

At Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters Uiwang, you order on the 3rd floor and can sit on the 4th-floor upper level. When I came up the escalator from 1F to 3F, the shop felt smaller than I expected, but the main hall is a two-level space with more tables on 4F. After ordering on 3F, you can walk straight out to the outdoor lawn plaza, or sit on 4F and drink there.

There were two or three tables on 3F and a variety of table setups on 4F. It's summer, so the green trees and clear sky were both lovely. A total view-worthy café!

Merchandise and desserts

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters Uiwang had merchandise like ball caps, coffee beans, logo cups, stickers and short-sleeve T-shirts.

For room-temperature bakery items, only the peanut sandwich cookie was left.

The refrigerated showcase also had a nice variety of desserts: mango sando (fruit sandwich), fresh mango yogurt cake, Basque cheesecake, madeleines, cookies, and even kids' drinks.

How was the iced café latte?

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee's iced café latte suited my taste, with nutty milk and a deep coffee-bean flavor. I'd seen Jeong Jiyoung Coffee at Starfield Suwon and Time Villas Suwon, but those are always crowded, so this was my first time trying it, and the coffee was better than I expected. The iced latte had that nutty milk plus deep bean flavor I like!

London Pug milk tea, a recommended non-coffee pick for teens

The London Pug milk tea was ordered by my daughter, who came along since summer break has already started. She has tried milk tea at lots of well-known cafés, so I was worried, but she found it classy and delicious and downed it almost in one go. It's not for elementary-school kids, but I'd recommend the milk tea as a non-coffee option for teenagers!

Is the ₩4,500 Lotus s'more cookie worth it?

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee's Lotus s'more cookie is big and fluffy like bread, so it was worth ₩4,500. At ₩4,500 I thought, "that's bread money for a cookie," but it was literally bread-sized, fluffy, and the Lotus cookie flavor really came through. A quick sugar recharge, fully achieved!

Verdict: the view café I'd been looking for at the Uiwang outlet

It's hard to find a good café at Uiwang Premium Outlet, but the newly opened Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters was a nice find. Whether you're shopping at Lotte Outlet Uiwang, heading for a second-round café after a meal, or looking for a Uiwang café with a view, it works for all of them, so I'll definitely be back!
